In my two most recent quizzes, I have been looking at the scores people have gotten. Then, I realised that there were 42 scores on there, while it says only 39 people have played. The same on another; there are 8 or 9 scores, and it says only 7 have played. Is it just slow picking it up, or is something going awry?

I think the discrepancy is the number of guests who have played your quiz.

I think you will find it is a bit slow, becusae often you have to wait a few minutes to see what your score was or where abouts you came in the quiz, I think it depends on how many people are on the site at the time.

It's not that, it's showing less players that have actually played, not more. Hmm...

http://www.funtrivia.com/quizscores.cfm?qid=230059

See, it clearly shows 10 plays, but says that only 9 have played.

Some pages take quite a while to update - could that be the problem?

I'm pretty sure it was the guests vs registered players thing. I think it had been asked months ago when the pages first changed to reflect this and Terry answered it.

It's still coming up like that. It's as if it isn't recognising that some people have played it. All of the people who have played those quizzes are fully fledged members, but it's just not accepting their plays.

For example, this is the list of scores from my quiz about Thalidomide.

Jack1331 10 / 10 100
ElmoFringby30 10 / 10 100
Melisch 10 / 10 100
Catamount 9 / 10 90
blethar 9 / 10 90
memorylane42 9 / 10 90
Krustyphied 9 / 10 90
jbuck919 8 / 10 80
ertrum 8 / 10 80
Mink 8 / 10 80
sue943 8 / 10 80
looney_tunes 7 / 10 70
Maleka 7 / 10 70
supersal1 7 / 10 70
Czolgolz 7 / 10 70
nascarfan2 7 / 10 70
MaggieG 5 7 / 10 70
minipin1 7 / 10 70
ivwonka 6 / 10 60
fluffydeb 6 / 10 60
newteacher 6 / 10 60
bopeep 6 / 10 60
lorabollinger 6 / 10 60
brilo 6 / 10 60
CowAndFrog 6 / 10 60
Emma-Jane 6 / 10 60
pu2-ke-qi-ri 6 / 10 60
almaster 5 / 10 50
lfhaines 5 / 10 50
debeer 5 / 10 50
Dizart 5 / 10 50
Pele 5 / 10 50
irishdragon7 5 / 10 50
kyleisalive 5 / 10 50
cinsamadam 5 / 10 50
emj23 4 / 10 40
Kabdanis 4 / 10 40
kingbtk 4 / 10 40
ashi2002m010 3 / 10 30
Chloe1918 3 / 10 30
richicago 2 / 10 20
Morrigan716 1 / 10 10
cptmemo 1 / 10 10

43 people on that list, all of whom are members, yet my quiz says that only 40 people have played. Any ideas?

I've noticed this happen when say a friend who's a member of funtrivia plays one of my quizzes on my computer even though they didn't registar on my computer and have different IP address.
I now tell them to wait until they get home!

The plays on the main page for the quiz is updated less frequently than the scores page. It will take a while for them to catch up to one another, meanwhile, people are still playing your quiz, so the two scores will never be in synch.

Its not a bug, just a synchronization glitch. If you want them to be equal, take the quiz offline and wait a few days. Otherwise, just let people enjoy the quiz, and don't worry what score they got.

That's fine, thanks for clearing it up. What I was wondering was if some people's scores were not being counted for some reason. My only issue is that if it doesn not recognise all these people have played, then it may stay unrated.

It does recognize the fact that they played - it just might take a little while for the page to update.

It sounds to me as if some of the questions are much, much too hard.
