291 is the commonly known name for an internationally famous art gallery that was located at 291 Fifth Avenue in New York City from 1905 to 1917. Originally known as the "Little Galleries of the Photo-Secession", the gallery was created and managed by photographer Alfred Stieglitz.

The gallery is famous for two reasons. First, the exhibitions there helped bring art photography to the same stature in America as painting and sculpture. Pioneering artistic photographers such as Stieglitz, Edward Steichen, Alvin Langdon Coburn, Gertrude Kasebier and Clarence H. White all gained critical recognition through exhibitions at 291. Equally important, Stieglitz used this space to introduce to the United States some of the most avant-garde European artists of the time, including Henri Matisse, Auguste Rodin, Henri Rousseau, Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso, Constantin Brancusi, Francis Picabia and Marcel Duchamp.

292: Well, I guess there are contests for just about anything you can think of. In August of 2006 a Mobile Phone Throwing World Championship was held in Helsinki, Finland. The men's winner claimed his victory by throwing his phone 292 feet.

294: 'The Cook's Illustrated The Best Skillet Recipes' cookbook contains 294 foolproof recipes, all made with just one skillet. These include pizza, various pies, fudge pudding cake, and spaghetti and meatballs just to name a few.

Here's a description of just one of the recipes: "In no time at all, our Pan-Roasted Chicken with Sage-Vermouth Sauce offers crackling-crisp skin and a savory sauce made from the caramelized drippings left in the skillet."

I'm getting hungry just reading about it. Here's the link if you want to buy the book.

You probably all know this, but I will post it anyway.

298: According to a published letter in the Astrophysical Journal, there is a report of a "Discovery of Nearly Coherent Oscillations with a Frequency of ~567 Hz during Type I X-Ray Bursts of the X-Ray Transient and Eclipsing Binary X1658–298"

Nearly coherent eh? Let me know when it becomes completely coherent.

The A299 is a major road in Kent, that runs between Brenley Corner (near Faversham) and Ramsgate.
It was mainly built in the 1930s, and upgraded to dual carriageway along most of its length in the 1990s.

I do not usually approve of copy/pasting straight from Wiki etc, but this is amazing for 233
233 is an irregular prime, a full reptend prime, a cousin prime, a Chen prime, and a sexy prime. It is the 13th Fibonacci number. It is an Eisenstein prime of the form 3n − 1 with no imaginary part. Since 233 × 2 + 1 = 467, another prime, 233 is a Sophie Germain prime. 233 is also a prime triplet (with 227 and 229).
It is a Fibonacci number, being the sum of 89 and 144. Being an odd-indexed Fibonacci number, it is also a Markov number, appearing in solutions to the Markov Diophantine equation: (1, 89, 233), (89, 233, 610), (233, 610, 426389), ...
In base 10 there is no integer that added up to its own digits yields 233, hence 233 is a self loveing number. In base 3, the sum of 233's digits is composite; no smaller prime has this property.

In current teenage slang and Internet discourse, 233 is sometimes used instead of BFF to abbreviate "Best Friends Forever." The digits correspond to the number keys that would be pressed on a telephone while sending a text message. In Windows live messenger 233 is a commonly used to represent the emoticon of raised eybrows.

235:
2010 is the year that Volkswagen brings out its new green car, the One-Liter Car, which gets 235 miles to the gallon.

According to the earthfirst.com site, the car took three years to develop, then was put on hold for six years waiting for the price of carbon fibre (the main component of the body) to drop to a reasonable price. This happened two years earlier than expected, and so plans to go ahead with a limited number production were bumped up to the current year.

1,000 of these 2-seater, six-speed 660 lb cars are expected to be produced this year.

More information here plus a photo of this smart looking car for those interested:

Even in tough times, it's good to be a lawmaker: According to a report released this week by the Center for Responsive Politics, there are 237 millionaires serving in Congress, according to 2008 figures.

That's a slight decline from the previous year, when there were 239 millionaires in the House and Senate. But it still reflects the fact that the average lawmaker is far wealthier than his or her typical constituent. While about one percent of Americans are millionaires, 44 percent of those serving in Congress can claim as much.

"The biggest takeaway from all of this is that even thought the collective wealth of members of congress appears to have declined, members of Congress are still so much more wealthy than the average American – and even more wealthy than a lot of wealthy Americans," CRP spokesman Dave Levinthal told Hotsheet.
