We've been to Samares Manor Sue. It was a good day out that included a falcon display.

Perhaps you're thinking of Loch Lomond from that song:
"Oh you take the high road, and I'll take the low road,
And I'll be in Scotland before you.
But me and my true love will never meet again,
On the bonny, bonny banks of Loch Lomond." *snif snif*

Well it's been way too hot here to get out and take pictures. This is the temp from Saturday. I believe 108F is about 42C, yes? It was even too hot to go outside and clean my window for this photo!

Stratford-upon-Avon too busy for my liking, but very popular.

I see Stratford hasn't changed at all from my first visit (of many) when I was 10!

Here's a train arriving at Ashtead station in Surrey

I have never been, but am visiting relatives nearby next month and we will be doing the touristy things (hopefully before the schools break up!)

Professor, I had to laugh at the baby otters. They look like they were suprised to be caught on camera.

Djsgal, you're right about it being too hot to get outside. We were at Twentynine Palms yesterday and I think I went outside for about 5 minutes. It was 106 degrees F. when I checked.

(edited to add) SMW, your photo took my breath away!

Today's picture is one I took last week in South Carolina. I looked for critters in the water, , and caught sight of a turtle. He was much to quick for me to get a pic.

Oo, you were at Twentynine Palms? You were so close! It's only about 2 hours or so southeast of us. Where to next?

Perhaps the same day that Sara and I went then! They had the falcon display that day. Come to think of it, I have a feeling that Sara was somehow involved in the display, perhaps holding the meat!

lots of great photos, I enjoyed them all, and I really admire the black swans.

These are tiger lilies in an alley near our building, they are very small ... like fawn lilies ... the blossoms are about the size of a button mushroom.

This photo was taken on the Isle of Skye. Walked down a 1 in 7 slope to capture it.

This is a California desert sunrise on Sunday, June 22, 2008. The temperature that day reached well over 100 deg. F.

Here's a typical residential road in Golders Green, for anyone who wants to see what it's like to live round here.

I have lived in the centre of my town for many years and thought I knew it very well, but today I came across this narrow passageway of four pretty cottages.

My niece goes to a place called "Going Bonkers" periodically when she is far too energetic. I got to go with her today and see it. This is from the top of the maze (it is quite a maze too!) looking at the other side. Where I was and what you see are interconnected. That maze and series of slides wore me out!

This link (the black arrow) shows where I was at when I took this shot. Parts of this maze is as much as 20-25 feet (6.5 to 8m) high.
