TW, your piece made with the "brushes" reminds me of toothpaste for some reason, lol. Neat effect. Your vector drawing is excellent. It is something I had always wanted to learn.

I've always liked vector drawing. It's very different to working with bitmap graphics. Here is one that is mostly bitmap. It's still done in the same program but Xara Xtreme also has the capability of working with photos (bitmaps). It was touched up a bit in Photo-Paint though because I couldn't quite get the shadow how I wanted it in Xara:

I saw the toothpaste also before reading your comment, mcs! The above makes me feel as if I can actually reach out and peel the layers back further on my monitor, tw. Absolutely fascinating.

Here's a vector (drawn) graphic I did a while ago:

Edit: CorelDraw was used for this one.

I wonder if Terry has seen that one, tw? Clever advertising logo in the future perhaps?

These are all so much fun to look at, I had to have a try myself! I really like your daffodils, picqero.

So, here's my first attempt, just using what Photobucket has to offer. Started with the photo of the river that I used for yesterday's photo a day, used the "Invert" effect, made it a poster with a title, used "fill" to put some green in the leaves and then used the blemish eraser to get rid of a word I didn't want...

Nice daffodils, picqero.
Liz, that poster is outstanding! I would love to have that in my home.

First go at using Terragen here...It's one of a series of pictures of the same place at different times.

Fantastic photos everyone!

I just couldn't stay away so here is one of my golden memories from my visit to the Isle of Mull (Scotland) four years ago .

I used the "Sculpture" effect in Paint Shop Pro 7.

This is my second go at using Terragen, and my first go at using the 'parent and child' bit, which is basically layers. It's not as good as the sunset.

A different 'Civil War' from that of my last post; Union infantry with the 35 starred flag.
A subtly textured image.

I messed with a pic of a rose in Photoshop. I changed it to "Poster" and then added "Poster Edges."

An attempt at animation. The movement isn't very smooth but it was just something created to see if I could do it:

My Favourite castle in Scotland, I used a Antique effect coupled with sepia in a microsoft package.

Wanted to get a feel of how it would have been photographed at the turn of the last century

Oh, you are all so good!
bhs, that looks like your granddaughter, the 'avid reader', with the beautiful red hair?
Great job for a first try, nifti, really like the 2nd one.
Gary, That castle looks very period authentic.
tw, Your animation started making me dizzy!

Pop art image of a malachite rhino ornament. I posted the 'real' image of it a few months ago in photo-a-day.

Fun forum with great idea threads!

"Tulips" - Done in Adobe Photoshop over emphasizing the midtones and maximizing sharpness.
