Yeomen of the Wars of the Roses; fought in the mid 15th century, between the royal houses of York and Lancaster to decide the succession to the throne of England.
The name derived from the house of York using a white rose and the house of Lancaster using a red rose in their coats of arms.

I took this last weekend in Fort Lauderdale, FL just before I dropped and broke my camera. Playing around with a photoshop program and I create pink skies and blue trees.

Wow that's amazing - should print a few off, frame them and make your fortune!

Just wanted to say how i enjoyed everyones artwork. Great animation Martin. Gary? The tones you have used just seem perfect for your subject. May I ask which castle it is? And Grand Central is just fabulous. Good job all.

Shelley i assume the castle you are referring to is the purple looking pic, it is proably the most well known castle after Edinburgh castle is Eliean Donan castle on the way to Skye. Was featured in the movie Highlander where you see Christopher lambert going off to fight, was also featured in The Avengers movie. Is a place i can sit for hours as is so tranquil and if i allow myself to drift i can imagine the fighting in that area.

That is lovely, lioness. A bit spooky somehow, but quite beautiful too.

This is my spider's web from photo-a-day, with neon effect and cropped - something which maybe I should have done originally, but I tend to post whatever I have snapped, warts 'n' all.

Gary - I especially like that station image. It really would make a great framed picture and would look just right in one of the Waiting Rooms.

This almost could've gone in the "What Is It thread but it doesn't seem quite obscure enough. Anyway, about the only adjustments to the photo was to enhance the underlying colors. Pix is of the Great Sand Dunes which lay at the base of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range in southern Colorado.

I haven't been in this thread in ages and was just absolutely wowed! You all impressed the heck out of me again.

Gary, I love that shot of the station from September 16th. I agree, frame that up, I'd love to have one and like your last one also.

lilyalli, that spider web is very cool!

tw, the dogs are hilarious. I laughed out loud when I saw that one.

SOTHC, only you would come up with kaleidoscopic geese. I would never have guessed that one in a million years.

Tredici, the colors in the dunes are so soft and beautiful, just like, well, dunes!

i had a reply here, don't know what happened to it, with comments on the beautiful spider web, and e.d. castle. did anyone see it? i was asking you prof, what you use to do your beautiful drawings ... anyhow ... don't get much time to play anymore ... this is just "painted" with various filters in psp (v.7) of a photo of a church in the Rocky Mountains ... will post the original tomorrow, there is really quite a difference in the two ...

Hi Tredici - no, it is The Chapel on the Rock at Camp Saint Malo on the Peak-to-Peak Highway in your state. Is it near you? It is such a beautiful place.
This is the original ...

I wish it was near me. Unfortunately I'm a flatlander... There are several beautiful mountain churches when we travel we try to visit. Many of them are similarly constructed, more than likely built around the same time periods.

Well, they are truly beautiful and built in perfect places. I hope you snag photos of all of them in your travels!

Made with
Reflet Freeware (a stand-alone ani program)

http://www.brothersoft.com/reflet-65182.html

A Tutorial:
http://www.pspbuddies.com/pspTutor/CSGreen/reflet/reflet.html

(a version i had sometime back, let you select the area to animate, this one does not "appear" to or perhaps i need to read the tutorial ... i was winging it. This was sort of a fore-runner to java applets ...

--

"Generate simply and quickly an animation simulating waves effects."
By BS Editor: Reflet makes it possible to generate simply and quickly an animation simulating waves effects and lake reflection. It is very practical to animate logos, to decorate your web pages or quite simply to have fun. It can be used of course for images with water but you can widen the choice for the monuments, portraits or to create text animations.

Settings
Various parameters are available to adjust the animation result. Start by defining the number of frames. More this number is high more animation will be fluid but more the file obtained will be large. Adjust then the animation speed and the reflection height. The size of the original image isan important parameter. If the image is too small, the waves will be not visible and animation without interest. If the image is too large, animation will be not fluid enough.

Export animation
Reflet is able to export animation as animated GIF format, as sequences of images and as AVI format. After saving image as GIF format, the software proposes to you to create a HTML page to test the result."

NOW I see it, Shelley. Yesterday when I looked, it wasn't moving. Now it is. How neat! All I can say is you have much more patience than I do.
