My sister and I were out Christmas shopping in the mall today and were both enthralled by this magnificent model train display set up by the local model train club. It even has buttons you can push to control the trains

I had three santas on motorbikes pass me like this today as well. They must be going around.

This is inside Hounslow West station, it used to be the end of the line and everyone going to Heathrow Airport would have to get off with all their luggage and get a bus or coach the rest of the way. Eventually, many decades after it opened, they finally extended the line, followed by a completely new overground line from Paddington.

Today it is snowing again. This was taken around noon (seven and a half hours ago). Since then the sun came out for a couple of hours and then the snow started again for real. At one point I couldn't see across the street. It is still snowing, but not so hard now. I've been out with the shovel at least four times today...

Not an optimal time for photos but here's what's happening outside my door right now, as the snow blows four hungry deer search for the food I've just put out for them; I hope it will be enough to get them through the cold night. Hope ClaraSue gets to see this, she asked for it!

BurgGurl that photo has a wonderful quality about it. Just beautiful. And lucky for those deer to have found someone with a kind heart!

That craftsman looks like Santa to me! (Look at his sleeve.)

Can't believe all the snow in the USA, heart this morning that a lot of flights have been delayed due to the severe storms. On the other end of the scale, we are cooking. It has been hovering around 30-32deg C for almost a week now. Then today gale force winds of up to 120km hour have caused severe damage to two shopping malls in Port Elizabeth. What a Christmas it is going to be!

Imagine my delight when I turned a corner in Aldwych and saw my first working Routemaster bus since 2005! These were banned for political reasons but two routes right in the centre were kept, and owing to a charge to drive there in the week hadn't returned since until I needed to go there last weekend. This was a very nice bonus as these are the buses I grew up with and took from school for many years.

A gift from Santa this morning - and a new camera to take its photograph with - Santa must have known my old one had self destructed....

Merry Christmas to you all.

The roads were nice and clear today so I went out to the country before a late Christmas with the family. This is Well End just past Borehamwood, only just beyond the edge of London.
