I love the beaches and the cactus forest! The bird pictures are great, and the "cold" ones make me shiver. Love the Routemaster, too. Great pic, Copago, and I wouldn't worry about walking through it - he probably had it rebuilt by the time you got home

I believe this branch must have come down when it was so very windy a couple of nights ago.

Even dead bracken has a certain charm, when covered in early morning hoarfrost.

wow, McS

Is there a difference between 'hoarfrost' and normal frost?

In defiance to all the frosty and snowy photos here is a bee on a bush

You all give pleasure to my eyes, I delight in seeing the awesome ( ) places you all live in! and it's beautiful seeing these kind of pictures everyday! they give me a brake from the tedious translation I'm on right now.
Here is a pic from the Delta del Tigre, about an hour from my city, here the Río de la Plata river branches off in hundreds of smaller rivers, the place is more beautiful along those little rivers but we didn´t get to go there on that day.

My use of 'hoarfrost' was colloquial rather than scientific, though I believe it was accurate. there are various types of frost well described in Wikipedia, and a good description of hoarfrost here.

The Washington Monument on a cold hazy day in DC -- there was ice in the reflecting pool.

Lots of memories here. This is where I caught the bus home in Golders Green from school for 7 years, the Routemaster faced the other way and stopped using it when it was extended to the new shopping centre at Brent Cross. It was disused for many years until the local Hoppa buses started using them. There are two routes here, one which now goes past my old house which didn't run when I was there.

I have yet another "cold" picture to share. I loved the way the ice had formed near these rocks, just below a little dam that I often pass.

Alfie was waiting for the next Whiskas advert

These odd ceiling decorations in Wynn's Hotel in Las Vegas were pre-Christmas so seem to be a permanent fixture

Runningbare, that looks like an art deco curved wall to me as I am sitting in front of a very similar one now.

This is the war memorial in the centre of Golders Green. According to Einstein the universe is infinite and has no centre or edges but to me this is the centre of my own universe.

Oh Dear I forgot to bring in Mr. Flamingo for the winter. Now he up to his....well you can see he's not too happy.

I'd go get him but I think he's frozen in the ground, besides he does add a little color to the back yard. He stands about 3 to 4 ft high

Here is a Mallee Ring Neck (I think, as you know I'm not too good on birds LOL) parrot sitting in a dead tree. Not the first time I'vce had a bird sitting in a dead tree .. we have lots of dead trees and lots of birds
