Jane, I'm sure that makes both of you feel great, wonderful news.

lioness, I think mothers/females generally do make better instructors. I can only base it on my experience, but I taught my sons and also a lot of their friends (male and female) how to drive because fathers/males were just too uptight and impatient. Good luck with it!

It seems that it's been a week since good or bad news.

High of my week is the delicious easter egg that I got from my boyfriend...white chocolate with toffee bits.

Low is that last night my little brother started throwing up, he still is, and I think I've got it as well.

ugh - hope it's a quick bug you've got, lioness.

My high is that I'm 100 days without a smoke yay me.

Time Smoke-Free: 100 days, 19 hours, 29 minutes and 30 seconds

Cigarettes NOT smoked: 2520

Money Saved: $1,178.33

It's fun to keep track along the way .. if anyone is giving up smoking go to quitnet.com and you can get the facts and figures.

That's really good Copago. Keep it up!

As for the bug, it was a very quick one - it's passed already.

Way to go Copago. My husband keeps trying to quit, then starts again. So I know what a battle it is.

This has been a very tough week for my family and I'm really glad it's over. My Husband's aunt died on Friday the 3rd April. She was 86 and basically died of old age. Even though she never married and had chidren of her own, all the grandkids considered her a granny and she was loved and respected by all. Anyway my husband, sister-in-law and I had to arrange the funeral because nobody really knew what to do. She left all her affairs in a very organised condition (she knew she was going to die soon) so it wasn't too difficult. My husband, being a part time minister, did the whole service, including the sermon. It was very sweet and special and I was so proud of my husband for doing such a great job and even though it must have been difficult for him.

On the up side I'm glad the old lady is at peace now, She was in a lot of pain in her last days.

Lynn-ann, I'm sorry to hear about the death of your husband's aunt. It sounds as if she was a well-loved and respected lady. May we all live to that long age, and be so admired when we leave. My condolences to you and your family. ((((( hugs )))))

I used that site Jill and apparently save £1,825.00 per year - I haven't smoked for nine years so that is a LOT of money not spent.

LOL I already have bought a few stamps, Sue

Perhaps it's just denial that doesn't let you think about how much, financially, smoking costs. I never thought about it before giving up and it's a crazy amount of money. If I save it all I can probably put the young lad through Uni!

Sorry, Lynn-ann, about your Husbands aunt. I do wonder how hard it is for ministers and other who officiate at funerals when the person is known to them, especially a close relative. Perhaps it is easier?

Thanks Copago. No I don't think it's easier for the minister. He had to preach while family and friends were crying their eyes out but isn't it better to have someone up there who knew the person than some stranger who has to just repeat what the family has told him to say?

So sorry for your loss lynn-ann.

Congratulations Copago and keep up the good work. Waiting for the 200 day reminder.

A friend told us this weekend he quit smoking six months ago and bought himself a new camera with the money he had saved in those six months.

High of this week: Being able to spend the last couple of days at home with Lily and our two beautiful children. I was admitted to emergency the other day for something relating to the cancer tumour and was able to get out of there a couple of days later ( I was admitted Sunday night and released Tuesday afternoon) so I could be with my family for a couple of days before I was operated on.

Low of this week: I`m being operated on tomorrow and I`m a little concerned. It`s a 5-6 hour operation and I just don`t know how much of me is going to be cut out. It`s certainly been a life changing thing so far but tomorrow after the operation I`ll finally know if I will be "mostly" back to normal or if I have to wear a colostomy bag for the rest of my life. I`ve been told that I will probably be stuck with the bag. I`ve also been told that I`ll be in hospital for at least 10 days recovering.

If the worst case scenario occurs and I`m not in a position to post here again please know that I`ve enjoyed every moment I`ve spent here reading everyones posts and playing the quizzes.

Take care all.
Roos

My dear Roos, I am sitting here with my little teddy beside me and we are both sending you every positive vibe possible. I am not a religious person but for those who are, perhaps they can say a prayer for you as some did for me when I was ill.

Now we will have none of the negative thoughts, get your butt back here at the soonest possible!

I am rooting for you, take care my friend, and hurry back.

Good luck on your surgery, Mr. Roos! We'll see/hear from you when you get to feeling better, yes? Or better yet - as you get to feeling better. FunTrivia, I'm told, is an especially grand place to visit while in the throes of recuperation .

It's been a while since I frequented this part of the forums so I haven't enjoyed your wonderful sense of humour for a while.
I too am sending you very strong, positive vibes and look forward to hearing that all went well and you are back on your feet!
