As some of you will already know I make greetings cards. Some of these cards are for my personal use, ie to send to friends or family, others I donate to charities. The charities involved are currently Shopmobility Jersey, the Marie Curie Appeal and the Salvation Army. I might also raise money for The Stroke Association for our local support group in Jersey.

What I am asking is if some of you will give me permission to use a few of your photos on these cards, with my assurance that I will not benefit financially at all - in fact the materials cost me a considerable amount of money.

If you will give me permission and would wish for acknowledgment in the form of a label on the back saying "Photography by..." or similar then naturally I would do this.

I will not use any of your images without specific permission.

That is a lovely idea Sue and I would be very honored. But in reality I don't think you would be using mine as there are many far better images.

Just let me know if you do, so I can purchase some - with acknowledgement on back of course, for bragging purposes!

Sue, I doubt there would be any out of the ones I have posted, but you are welcome to any you might find. I think this is a wonderful idea, for good causes, too.

Sue, use ahead. I have actually set them for general use in the album so if anyone wants to share pictures of what Golders Green and Finchley look like you know where they are, and I just ask to use my name if posted on websites.
I've had some very good results, the best being one used by BBC Radio4 for a feature on suburbia.

Will you post pictures of the cards when they are done? I'd love to see them.

Sue, as far as I'm concerned any photo I put on here is in the public domain, so go ahead and use any you wish. An acknowledgment is a nice thought, it prevents any copyright disputes later on.

Here is the PhotoBucket album with the cards that I have made from real photos, I am sure that I have made more so will try to find them too.

Quite a lot of them are photos taken by me but some are from those taken by FT members for which I had been given permission prior to using them.

Some of the photos are 'just photos' some have been made into various types of 3-D effects, and some into backing papers too.
