My house was on the historical house tour last night. I spent days getting everything spic and span (nothing like a good spring cleaning!!). The flower club came in and did some incredible flower arrangements. I'll share them with you. This was in the kitchen...

I take every old car I see nowadays, this one has been restored, a Morris Oxford. My dad didn't mind being shown by the way, I hope he's small enough not to cause a problem here!

What a clever arrangement bhs63 -- do we get to see some of your house also?

This is purple ice plant. It blooms for a couple weeks in spring -- usually a lot more than this, but this is a young plant. Sometimes it survives the summer, sometimes not, but seedlings come up the following year.

Love the lemur and the Morris Oxford! Can do without the cloud of insects, though

Spotted these pretty flowers when I was out walking today.

In Western Australia, it is called "pig-face" - I have no idea why!? Ice plant is much nicer!

You've jussent SatGuru's heart racing, Pic

Thought all the things came together nicely in this photo .. broken windmill, tree, dust and clouds and of course the sheep. It wasn't long after this that the sheep broke away and there I was still putting the camera gently back in teh case while the other half is yelling at me to get aroud the sheep. Oops. Don't think I'll take the camera out again for a while

You can never go wrong with transport photos Copago!

Spring is here, this is a pussy willow, I discovered the catkins arrive before the leaves.

Good eye, Liz! A 'sad sack' for sure.

And thanks for the pussy willow, Sat... I never knew they'd grow so big, as here they are generally kept as decorative shrubs.

For you Chihuly fans, there is currently an exhibit of his work at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix (and I took enough pictures to last through April ). The pieces are meant to represent the colors and shapes of the desert. One of the first pieces you'll encounter is the sun!

Real life took over for a bit so I was forced to take a break from FT. I enjoyed catching up on all the photos I missed.

Another clock tower hidden among the trees.

I love the purple crocuses, Liz, and can never see enough daffs, one of my favorites too, picqero!
bhs, pretty jonquils, I'd love to see the arrangements and your house too. I just know it's gorgeous.
PDAZ, I have never seen the 'ice plant' - how neat! Are they a succulent? The 'leaves' look fat. I am a huge fan of D. Chiluly and his works are always incredible aren't they?
I just looked back here and realized I had completely missed the clock tower photo! Very neat shot there.

All the photos are great!

Love the clock tower amidst the tall trees, and the Chihuly glass sculpture immediately reminded me of a similar sculpture we saw last year on the Venetian island of Murano

Is the Jokes theme for this week too much?
I'm quite happy to change it as it's not seeming too inspiring.

The Thomas Mill Bridge is Philadelphia's only remaining covered bridge, and spans the Wissahickon Creek. It was built in 1855, renovated twice and now sports a stainless-steel roof. It's in a great area for biking, hiking, riding, relaxing, etc., within the city limits. This picture is from a bike ride I took in mid-March.
