Hi Everyone, since I haven't got a list of the themes that have been done and who suggested them I wondered if you'd like to throw in some more suggestions for the weekly themed photos? I don't want to duplicate recent themes.

I've pinched a couple from the old thread for the next couple of weeks but I'd love to hear if you have an idea we could use.

I'm not sure what all has been used since I haven't been around as long as some of the other fine posters.

But it seems we all, at one time or another post pictures of Doorways.

"Your own car">>>

I`m not sure if it`s been used before, but seems interesting just like "Your house" few months ago.

Could make a pretty good them actually!

I've just looked through the previous Theme Suggestions thread, and noticed various suggestions which may not yet have been used. Feel free to correct me if we've had any of these, or if I've missed any:-
windows, automobiles/vehicles, education, aeroplanes, bottles, flags, year 2000, covers & lids, light, street signs, badges, uniforms, history, drinks, birds, butterflies, furniture, landscapes, seascapes, phone booths, opposites, collections, feet, music, unusual angles, patterns, shoes, eyes, home projects, yellows, messiness, pollution, abstract/shapes, public transport, elevators, recycling, locks and keys, weather, bends, macro images, red, neon lights, beaches, fans, trophies & awards, telephones, brushes, candles, fish, bugs, broken items, breakfast.
These were suggested by various forum members' and I've just listed the themes; not who suggested them.

We've done signs twice since the themes started, but as Tredici says, it's a large category We've also done windows, bottles and flags at least once each and also unusual angles. (I remember which photos I posted for each of these )

How about "street fixtures" which could include fire hydrants, bike racks, benches at bus stops and so forth.

Rivers & Waterways.
The sky at night.
Night scenes.
Something you have made.
Plants you have grown from seed or cuttings.
Garden or Yard features.
Birds.
Decorative indoor lighting.
Where the land meets the sky (horizons).
Insects.

It's already been suggested, but I'd like to mention "Night shots" as a theme. I always find really good night photos, especially of things like city lights, fascinating.

Seeing Picqero's photo of flags outside the US Embassy brought a suggestion to mind. Also, Picquero has already suggested flags, but I'd like to expand that suggestion.

If I remember correctly, we may have had flags before, but I'm suggesting specific flags. "Governmental" flags. That is, flags of countries, shires, states, counties, etc. I think that would give all of us a new view of something we may see every day and not really "see" what is around us. And besides, I'd like to see flags from around the world!

Unless it's a special date, very few flags are flown in the UK as a general rule so you wouldn't see too many images from here. Wait until 2012, then we'll be flying flags everywhere, for the Olympics and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee all at once!

Maybe someone could go to a footie/rugby match though - who wants to volunteer for Millwall?

I don't have any pictures of the 19th Century that I took myself (hey, I'm OLD, but ... lol) Love all the other ideas though (nice mix). More than fine with any other letter of the alphabet as well (I promise to post an "L" before Sunday!).

The 19th century could work, though. I have photos of buildings built then, and steam trains and cemeteries. There are lots of possibilities.
