A bit more of quaint Britain, a private road alongside Hampstead Heath.

Tulips on a rainy evening. These were yellow when they first bloomed, and have gradually changed to the colour you see here.

Beautiful SLiz. Those tulips almost look sugar coated.

Just for fun...

Having featured in several movies and even on the cover of a Pink Floyd album, Battersea power station is one of London's iconic landmarks.

Highgate ponds in Hampstead Heath. Actually half of Hampstead Heath is in Highgate but that would just confuse people if they changed it...

I know that this will probably belong in the music forum, but I just had to post it here because I was reminded of this video when there were so many posts last week about the airshows. I was afraid if I posted it in the music section, those that posted the airshow photos might not see it. For those that haven't seen an airshow, this is a good video. If you don't care for the music, you might want to turn down your speakers (but not off!); the lyrics are really nice and match the video.

Came home from an evening hike and found this little guy hanging on my door. He's a mediterranean house gecko -- they live in the roof of my house and come out at night to eat the mosquitoes and spiders -- awesome little dudes!

Sharon (zorba), your plant is a Monstera deliciosa. Common names are Swiss Cheese plant, due to the holes in the leaves, or Fruit Salad Plant, reflecting the flavour of the fruit.
Personally I have no liking for the fruit, not even for jam, but I'm sure some of the Forumites might enjoy it.

I'll say this as long as there's breath in my body (or they actually do it). Why can't they still make a few cars that look like this as well? Would it kill them?

This is the photo that I'd prepared for the Childhood Toys thread before it was changed

It is my hard plastic Davy Crockett knife, and I've had it since I was about three years old. I had a (fake) coonskin cap too, and used to wake my sister up in the morning by bouncing on the end of the bed and singing the Davy Crockett theme song at the top of my lungs, and off key. I did know all the words

Oh. What a nice run of pictures today. Took an evening walk at a local park. Spotted these mates.

You have such awesome pictures, Tredici -- I love ducks!

This is a small riparian area in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. There's a creek hidden among the trees that runs year-round, and this spot is noticeably cooler than the rest of the trail. We used to have a pair of cardinals that hung around here, but I haven't seen them in a while.

One of the houses in my neighborhood. Not crazy about the pink color, but apparently it's historically correct.

Some late 20th century suburbia in Weybridge, Surrey. Today's new houses look like the slums built for Victorian factory workers and still sell as there's a housing shortage.

Lots of colorful pictures. That is a very nice picture of Niagara, zorba.

This is what the sky looks right before a thunderstorm hits. Tomorrow I will post a picture taken just a little bit later in the day.
