This week's theme is inspired by Dr Seuss' "A great day for UP" which I have read, and have had read to me, for the umpteenth time tonight.

Up ladders, up in the sky, up on a shelf, up a hill .. anything, just use the word UP as your inspiration

98% Totality. Lunar Eclipse, Edmonton Alberta February 20, 2008 (from my driveway). I am surprised I got anything at all, since it was about -30 Celsius that night and generally, batteries don't work very well at those temps! Sorry about the lack of clarity, my camera is not meant for pix of outer space. Anyway, this is about as far UP as I can submit lol.

Ty, but just so you know, I had about 20 blurry pix to every ONE that looked sort of okay. I've found you need to put your camera on a tripod and if you have "night" settings, try that mode. Ultra zoom too if you have it. There's a weird delay, because the camera is trying to let more light in, you just have to try not to jiggle the unit when you press the button. Trust me, if I can do it, anybody can : )

well minus 30 C is fairly chilly (about minus 23 Fahrenheit). If the average winter temp in Australia is colder than that, I guess I'll give up my dream of going there lol

My pink roses decided to send a branch climbing up the side of the house, and have made me look UP to see these lovely blooms at the top of my window.

My first post in the Photography section of this site. This was at Falcon Field in Mesa, Arizona. Not a bad sight to see when looking up.

Here's a shot of a worker sweeping dead leaves while up on the roof of the Temple of Literature in Hanoi, Vietnam. Like Pyonir, this is also my first post to the photo forums. I recently acquired a new Canon, so hopefully it won't be my last!
