These beds are typical of all the parks near me at the moment.

Great photos everyone, I love coming to this thread.

Welcome back dgsgal, looking forward to seeing your photos of Virginia, a beautiful State, and one of my favourites.

I'm off at the crack of dawn tomorrow to do my visa run again. Back in a week or so with new photos!

Here's yet another new development of flats near me. There's no more room for the extra people they create, we just have to wait longer for everything. I doubt it's only happening in London as well.

These look a lot better than the usual brick prisons but still have to find room for all the extra cars and sewage pipes etc.

This grey squirrel was sitting on my deck this afternoon. Took photos through the window of my back door so as not to disturb him

There was a deer grazing in my late grandma's garden yesterday but by the time I got the camera it was in the trees. So here's a typical local shopping street, St Johns Wood High Street. Unlike most of the others it's not on a main road and unless you're local and use it no one else would know it's there.

This outdoor stage was being put up today, ready for concerts to be held this weekend. Only problem was the torrential rain today, which is predicted to last all weekend...

A far more interesting block of council flats in Hampstead than the usual ones.

Picqero, that scene is so tranquil!

Here's a squirrel who was checking me out this morning

I thought for sure it was a ground squirrel when I saw him, but now that I look at the pic, it might just be a baby rock squirrel.

In case anyone was wondering, it was a ground squirrel in my photo from the other day. I saw the little fellow again today and got a good look at him.

By the way, Flopsy, I freed the lobsters...

Sadly, lobsters are rarely free... come to think of it, they're really quite expensive!

Oh, you didn't mean that?

There are many different squirrels, Copago. The red squirrel is indigenous to Britain but has sadly been pushed out of its habitat by grey squirrels imported from North America - reds are now very rare here. When I went to Canada the first time I was entranced by the sight of black squirrels, I'd never seen any before.

Even though grey squirrels are classed as vermin here they're still fun to watch. If you're ever in St James's Park in London, make sure you have some peanuts to offer in the palm of your hand - chances are a squirrel will come down for a free meal.

When I came home from work on Thursday, I found these on my kitchen table - a gift from my daughter for no paticular reason/occasion. I wonder what I'm being softened up for?

Maybe ... just for nothing whatsoever, MG? You can but hope ...

Great pics, everyone. I pop in most days to look, just wish I had more time to participate and comment individually. In any case it's a bright spot in my daily routine.

Here's a photo I took thinking of the 'up' theme that was going a couple of weeks back, but didn't get around to posting:

The flowers are exquisite, Mother Goose -- what a lovely color combination!

mc_shellsie, I should have noticed that stripe -- I would have known it was a ground squirrel right away. They are the desert equivalent of chipmunks!

Here's a shot of Different Pointe of View, a mountain-top restaurant at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs resort in Phoenix. There's a jazz club besides the restaurant with an outdoor patio that overlooks Phoenix -- a stunning view a night.
