Again a nautical flavour; a cargo vessel glides up Melbourne's shipping channel, dwarfing the little craft at their moorings.

From big "boats" to little ones ... here's my friend paddling in about 5 inches of water on the shoreline
of Patricia Lake in Jasper National Park (Alberta Canada).

There is no water in the Todd River (Alice Springs) for most of the year. But when it rains, flash floods can occur, as you can guess by the depth gauge on the side of the road. There is only a few inches of water in the river in this picture.

From horizontal water to vertical water - Silverband Falls on Dairy Creek in The Grampians National Park, west of Melbourne.
The water disappears into the small pile of stones at the base of the falls, and the creek re-emerges from underground further downstream.

On a beach (briefly) near Puerto Plata, DR

The husband thinks he's a comedian and likes to make fun of my big feet.
Thankfully, not only is he keeping his day job, but a wave washed away all evidence about 30 seconds later.

These sandals had served me well for a few years until there came a time when I had to throw them away, but I got a snap of them first.

Do you know, it was the Pope's shoes that led me to discover FunTrivia? Seriously!

We had not had our computer for very long when a friend phoned us to say that her son's teacher had assigned homework that required the children to use the internet to find out the answers to a list of questions. The questions were devised so that the answers could not be found by using the books in the library - you had to use the internet. My friend was very poor and did not have a computer, so she asked if her son could come around to use ours to do his homework and could I help him? Well, one of the questions he had to research was "What colour shoes does the Pope wear?" We googled the question and it led us to "Ask FunTrivia". And the rest, as they say, is history.

Here's another pair of favourite footwear - boots this time - that are for the scrap heap. The soles are flapping at the heel, and Precious reckons the laces are fair game smile

You'd need good boots to go off the beaten track on this hillside.
