You might, maybe, possibly, get me up in the air in a hot-air balloon, but you'll never get me up in the air in one of these contraptions!

Looking at the blue, blue sky brought to mind this photo of the Statue of Liberty, Paris version.

On the main category page, it shows a post by Dotb as the last one but when I click here all I can see is my own photo. Is something wrong with my computer?

Zorba: That's a very nice specimen of a Powder Blue Tang you have there : )

In keeping with the aquarium thing, this is a picture I took in either 2001 or 2002 (can't remember) at the Baltimore Aquarium in Maryland. They had a very cool "special" (not permanent) exhibit of seahorses, seadragons and pipefish running at the time.

This is a Leafy Sea Dragon (not a plant LOL). The "leafy" bits serve only as camouflage, if you ignore those parts and focus on the central body you can see how they are related to seahorses (the head/"snout" is in the lower left)

No, the post and following posts had to be removed as the photo wasn't taken by her - all photos in this forum must be taken by the person posting.

If I just deleted her post it would have made a nonsense of the comments regarding the photo so I removed them all rather than editing out her photo.

The last post made, regardless of being removed still shows in the end, nothing we can do about that, it is in the software. sorry.

Thanks for identifying it for me, Jake. Nice Sea Dragon, reminds me of a mermaid for some reason.

Thanks for clearing that, Sue. I kept trying to refresh and clear the cookies. I'm not very good at technical stuff.

Is it stretching the connection to suggest that this little fellow may be another type of "dragon"? I am not sure, but I think he is a Fijian crested iguana. His colouring is for reasons of camouflage too. This one was taken at the Australia National Zoo in Canberra.

This paper elephant, seen in a Tokyo park, isn't too dangerous

Wow! I like that paper elephant. Is it a permanent fixture?

I don't think so, especially with Tokyo's climate; just an extreme example of the Japanese art of origami

Something else with a truck and no knees; a tree. This odd looking specimen is in the woods surrounding Portmeirion.

Portmeirion, in north Wales, is where much of the cult TV series 'The Prisoner' starring Patrick McGoohan, was filmed.
There are many unusual and colourful buildings in the village, and this one is called 'The Chantry'

Looking through a window from the outside! One of the gift shops at Portmeirion with a rather impressive gold dragon on display. (I doubt it's real gold somehow.)

Seems there's a Welsh theme running
I was in Wales, Snowdonia in fact, only last week, and went for a walk through the vast Dinorwic slate quarry at Llanberis. Large scale slate production began during the late 18th century, and continued till the mid 20th century.
