Here's a close up of a dead and rotting hollowed-out tree-trunk I foudn interesting, while walking through one of the local nature reserves a week or two ago:

Toasting marshmallows over a wood fire. Yum!

Take the end marshmallow out! It's cooked beautifully.

This makes me wish it was winter!

To the woods!

THis is the woods from Mum's old golf set. So old that the woods are actually made of wood We just use them now to bash a ball around the paddocks. Real golfers would be horrified

This old wooden pew is awaiting a new life as a garden feature of some sort.

I spent 3 years in the desert missing a walk in the woods! Finally had one at Ft. Harrison State Park in Indiana.

Part of the Great Staircase at Aston Hall, Birmingham, built during the early 17th century. The staircase was damaged by Parliamentary cannon fire in 1643, during the English Civil War - as you can see in this image.



The owner, Sir Thomas Holte, surrendered the Hall, before it was badly damaged, and as a result of his foresight Aston Hall still exists today

I thought this a rather pleasing image in spite of the obvious decay. Found in Nicaragua during my trip last week.
