They put the mural there in 1997 as a temporary thing to hide the derelict building until it was knocked down... now it looks as though they like the mural, and have kept the building, lol. I've always liked Swanage, I spent many happy hours there as a child - it's a town with a great sense of humour and has several murals by the same artists.

Lucky you Tred with such wonderful countryside to photograph.
Thanks Lady, it is a lovely city, wish I lived there, but only an hour away!

Sherry, your photo stirred up some forgotten memories for me. Many years ago I lived near Altrincham, not far from Chester, and we must have visited it, as I remember it from your photo. Thanks!

I have a bunch just like that outside my window here. This is another reason I want to return to live in Hampstead Garden Suburb

Welcome szabs. Looks like your photos will be terrific additions to the theads. Was up DeputyGarys way this past week in North Dakota. Taken in the Badlands preserved by Teddy Roosevelt.

Been in Scotland a week now. View from 5th floor of hotel in Ayr, Ayrshire - August 7th. Sunrise over the Firth of Clyde - the large building is the courthouse.

Cute Carmel shops. Glad not to be a fly with that frog zeroed in! Gorgeous lighting McShellsie. Spotted this handsome fellow on last evening's drive. He didn't seem much concerned with mere me.

Szabs - must be time to dance Sevillana! I learned how, but never bought just the right dress. Still have the music, but couldn't remember if I tried. And PDAZ, I've eaten at the Tuck room a few years ago and it was delicious. Yum!

Thanks all for your warm welcome. Jar - After all these years here, I still haven't mastered the Sevillanas or bought a dress. Here is another typical mode of transportation during the days of the fair - when cars are replaced by horses.
