This picture was supposed to be just for the memory of picking the last of the season’s blackberries… but The Food Inspector showed up while I was off finding the camera.

Had a few free hours yesterday so we went sailing - but we were not alone .

For those who have noticed I collect photos of the road signs we were destined to lose from 1964, here is the latest example complete with the extra plate above with the old borough which changed in 1965 along with all the others. The signs which replaced them look like they were made in the break in a primary school.

Have just returned from two months in Scotland and Northern Ireland. This is the first year I saw the Highlands, what beautiful places! Also the first time for Isle of Skye.

One day this photo will be part of history. Had there been more ordinary pictures of local roads 50 years ago so much more of our views would not have been lost permanently. This is the traffic on the road waiting for the lights in Hendon. If nothing more it shows a typical view in my life. The street in India could easily be London were it not for the trees planted in the middle of the road- I'm amazed the roots don't lift the surface as they do here when on the side.

How does the chopper ever land then?

As it rained all day I scanned in more old photos, here's a view across London from the south taken a few years ago. London being in a basin has high hills all round so can see over 20 miles when on them.

Time machine. Photo was actually taken July 4 this year, near Petaluma, California.

I posted about a year ago this black goat who we've had has a pet since she was a couple days old. SHe, Hindu, comes and goes as she pleases .. she'll hang around a few months then she'll go away for months too. She went away for about three years once. Well, she came back again yesterday Funny old thing. The big white Nanny had been with her last time she was home and is getting nice and quiet. Today she ate some gum leaves out of my hand. The kid is about four months old which is when Hindu left last time (when she had the kids). She had twins but we don't know what happened to the other one. She is settling in again quite nicely thank you very much.

I came across this notice. Not unusual in itself but the location is a bit strange. It is right in the middle of some woods where there is no trace of a footpath. The only reason we (brother and I) were there was because we'd got a bit lost while out riding and were pushing our bikes through the wilderness. I don't know if there is actually a live electric cable. There's nothing around for miles. The notice looks to be decades old.

Anyway, I think the only reason anyone would want to dig there is if they were burying swag ..or worse!

One thing I can't stand is getting into a boat that's as wet inside as the water outside... so I didn't get in.
