What a scary pigeon!

I was in Delaware for a few days and took only four pictures...

This buggy parked at the Wal-Mart in Dover is unlike any I've seen in Pennsylvania, in the Amish communities around Lancaster or Volant. The small windows and step-in back door make it look a little hearse-like, but it turns out that buggy styles vary regionally, and this one is typical of the Dover, Delaware Amish, and might not be used anywhere else.

Dumb question(s) (and I looked for an answer, honest!):

Are the monthly Photo-A-Day submissions supposed to be photos actually taken during the current month only? That month in any year? Or what? (Feel free to interpret that last question any way you wish.)

Thanks!

Hi Paul, nah, it doesn't have to be a current photo just so long as it is one that you have taken. It was originally created to be that way but I think lots of us realised it's a bit hard to take and post a pic a day.

I love classic California architecture. Here's a Mission Revival/Italianate church in Ft. Bragg.

I don't know if there's a world record for the widest footpath but if anyone's applied I think this would be likely to beat it. I can't think why they'd build one that wide but they have, it's not far from me in Harlesden where I went to take a picture of someone's house they moved from about 30 years ago. I've done quite a few requests including some videos.

I'm sure someone local at the time would know the story of the path, I have quite a few sources I can ask and report back. Nice cat by the way.
Here's a complete contrast, these horses are only about a mile from my house.

The meter on the auto rickshaw I took from work today had a Ganpati (Elephant God) painted on it.

Random art on derelict building. Definitely an improvement on the bare boarded up windows!

Home-made cheesecake with chocolate drizzled on top - and it tasted even better than it looked!

One of my favourite London suburbs on the border of Kent. Bromley is ahead, I was in Beckhenham and West Wickham is to the right. I didn't plan it for that but discovered when I looked on the map later.

Was so happy to get this picture this morning Everything is so clear even down to his eye.
Every morning when I feed my dog there are a few magpies hanging around to finish off what he misses. Lately he's been getting fresh meat so the magpies are missing out. I've been putting a handful of dog nuts on the edge of the trailer for them to come and eat.

What a lovely home away from home, lady. Zorba, love those colours. Great capture, Copago.

Holy Batman, aliens have landed!

I found this bizarre looking creature in my garden this morning. I checked the web (no pub intended), it looks very close to the horned spider found in Thailand and Burma. If so, it's a long way from home!

A week or so ago, I asked if the Photo-A-Day submissions had to be photos taken in the current month, and was told no, that wasn't necessary. In commemoration of that, I hereby present this shot of the Golden Gate Bridge's north tower that I took today.

Though I've never lived in San Francisco, I've seen the bridge and been over it countless times, but apparently never at this time in the morning, as this is the first time I recall ever seeing the tower casting a shadow like that on the Marin Headlands.

Copago, I thought so too! I'd never had much of an interest in bugs until I moved here. They are so bizarre and so colourful!
