Some imaginative minds at work in this thread, I see. Well done, all!

"Neptune the Mystic" by Isao Tomita

(I know the title refers to the planet, but the planet was named after the Roman god of the sea, so it's all good )

In the interest of full disclosure, I have to confess that I had never heard of the song "Little Red Corvette" by Prince until I Googled for an excuse to post this photo. I shot this particular little red Corvette at the fabulous Blackhawk Auto Museum in Danville, California last year.

Nice car!

"Flowers in the Rain" by The Move. Only one hibiscus here. I think it qualifies - it was raining and there were lots of flowers.

Thanks everyone! It was taken in Sydney earlier this year. I was quite pleased with my first attempts at night-time shots with the camera I bought for the trip.

On my stopover in Singapore, and a walk in Canning Park, I came across this:

"Blowin' in the Wind", Bob Dylan

Gatsby: Very poignant submission there.
Paul: looks like there are lots of great cars in that museum - I sure wouldn't want the job of polishing them though lol.
Lily: both photos are very colourful! (what model camera did you end up buying?)
Martin: you're a "hoot" : )

"Splish Splash" - Bobby Darin

Jakeroo - love that image!

For my first digital camera, I was looking for something fairly compact with a reasonable zoom, and ended up purchasing, after researching and reading many reviews, a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ4. As I have no idea about cameras, I have to admit to using it on 'intelligent auto' all the time!

Well, I really, really wanted to get in another shot from the Blackhawk Museum, so via Google I came upon "Wax, Board and Woodie" by the Surfaris.

lilyalli, quogequox, Jakeroo, those are all perfect. So is Martin's in a deranged sort of way. Actually, I'm jealous I didn't think of it.

I was soooo tempted to go with 'Tanks For The Memory' for this one, but instead, I've opted for

Big Gun - AC/DC

Okay, for the first one, "Groan."
And for the tank "Groan, again!" (I mean, you could have used "Tank You for the Venom -- My Chemical Romance) and then where would we be?
You're so funny Martin. Keep it up! (And tanks for the humor...)

Lily: thanks for the info! I'm going to have to replace my aging "travel size" digital soon. In the meantime, I do own a digital SLR and while I love the results, it's not exactly what you want to lug around on holiday with, so I confess I don't actually use it as much as I should. Is it ok if I pm you if I have more questions about your new toy?

Martin: now THERE's a flat tire I wouldn't care to try to change! lol

It must be something about the name I guess.

I'd best put my sensible 'ead on then for this one.

Buffalo Soldiers - Bob Marley

(The larger vehicle is called a Buffalo & was used by soldiers. Clever, huh?)

Thanks Martin and Mags. He had been sitting there quite a while watching the geese and the beautiful sunset over the mud flats. But sometimes it's best not to know too much so you can create your own iterpretation!
