An interesting building in Bristol. This is one of several almshouses scattered around the city.

I spotted this odd construction today in Colindale, not sure what it is but could be oil tank vents.

Wow, you certainly get around the world Sharon! That is one impressive building. Here's one from my weekly trip to Hampstead Garden Suburb, just opposite my primary school.

Beautiful synagogue! Hampstead is pretty too!

Precious and I went visiting our neighbour Buddy, the other day. He just wanted to play, but Precious was being cautious.

This is just so cool I had to post it. I found this beer in the local grocery store: Monty Python's Holy Grail Ale. Underneath it says "tempered over burning witches."

Great picture, Dotb.

I've never seen a tree like this before.

I stand to be corrected Sharon, but I think what is unusual about these trees
is the pruning method.
It's done so that these potential forest giants will not outgrow their city locations and will continue to provide a shady green amenity to their streetscape.
I think it's called "pollarding".

I'd go along with that for the tree, they cut the wide branches and keep the ones on top.

This is part of the view from Richmond Hill, appearing on half the walls of local residents.

Thanks, Dawn and David. I was wondering how any tree could grow like that!

Summit of Mount Untersberg (1856m).

Great photos everyone. I think the tree is a cedar tree? We have them here and I often see them cut back at the end of summer so that the next year they'll grow bushier. I'll see if I can take a photo of one in town tomorrow.
I sbould be able to post more regularly now so here's a start.

Moon rise last week.

hmm, has photobucket made it harder to just grab the link now? I had to click on the photo to bring the info up whereas before it was just underneath the thumbnail pic.

You can still do it from the thumbnail. Hover over the thumbnail to open the link options. Go straight down to the 'IMG Code' and left-click on the code to highlight (select) it. Right-click and choose 'Copy'. Paste into the post.

That's what I do anyway.

Yes it's down (I nearly said before actually)- my picture's a different size as it was from Flickr which I don't usually use as they come out smaller. It's not too different though so I can leave this version when Photobucket returns.

Finally got it working.
Here's a flood level - took a few weeks ago and went up there on Monday to see how it was going and was a good couple of foot higher

PB isn't doing that for me any more, Tellies. I have to click on the pic now and go to it's page to get the code. :/

Nature's done all the work for me here (plus a gardener to some extent). Photobucket's back to normal for me now anyway.

Ah, the trams. Amusing to look at (occasionally). Convenient. But oh so uncomfortable to ride on :|

That's a good picture, though. I don't think I've seen that particular decoration before.

The fire was 3 weeks ago. There has been a good bit of rain since then and the land is starting to recover already. Another week or so and those fern shoots will all be open:

They do indeed. I think it looks that way because the fresh green well-watered shoots are such a stark contrast to the black surrounding them.
