Goodness, these pictures are amazing! Autumn does offer the best colors in nature In this part of the world it's Spring now, and even though I've been looking forward to it, these pictures are making me want to have cooler weather. They are truly beautiful.

This is a very old photo that I posted here years ago (hence the small size) but it is the only obvious "autumn" photo that I have. Our native trees are evergreen so we don't get much in the way of autumn colour, except from imported trees which tend to be in private gardens rather than out in public. I tried to resize this in Photobucket but it wouldn't work.
No chance of going out and taking an autumn photo this week as it is spring/summer here!

What a difference a week makes, the weather has turned colder and wetter, the wind gotten stronger, and the evenings darker. The autumn colour is still there but now has to be viewed with a winter hat on.

Holly berries; traditionally a heavy crop indicates a hard winter ahead - but they also provide a good larder for many birds, and their leaves provide shelter from severe weather!

Maybe because it is "Autumn" they decided to leaf it for a few more days

Perhaps the picture I took this morning will "precipitate" a theme change ...
