Happy New Year to you all! No fireworks from me unfortunately, but I have got this fabulously carved and sculpted tree trunk to show: It's lying near the playground in Citadel Park in Lille (France), and my older two kids spent many an afternoon climbing around on it with gangs of other kids.

Hope everyone had a great New Year and a happy 2011 to all! It was my birthday on the 31st and I had a good day Hopefully this terrible weather clears up properly soon, though it makes very good photos! This one was taken in Glasgow and shows the Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery in the background on the left.

Starting from the 1st, I've begun a 365 photo project for the year, so my uploads will be my photo from each day. I will have to get inventive, especially on the days I'm sitting in the house all day! These are on top of some cupboards in my home in Perth.

Maybe it's a bit late for Christmas tree posts, but here's mine all the same. I could've gotten more of the star at the top and less of the fan at the bottom, but I had the camera on the museum setting, so had to hold it extremely still. After several attempts to hold it still, this is the result.

"Aww, I hope Lucky gets better soon!" Thanks Reeshy. You know, every time you say "in my hometown of Perth" in one of your posts, it always gives me a jolt, and then I realise it's Perth, Scotland, not my hometown of Perth in Western Australia! I've already posted today but I'll post a photo of our Museum or Art Gallery for comparison in the near future.

Hey what a good idea for a thread! Photos from towns with the same name all over the world. I wonder if that is possible. Hey, in the FT Photo forum, everything is possible...

The only other Kingsbury I know is near Birmingham and doing photo searches can be a pain when most of them are of their water park 120 miles from here especially as we have one as well right on my doorstep. Here's another of the rows of houses on Roe Green Estate, I don't know if it's me or the camera can't cope properly with poor light.
