This is the Art Gallery in Perth, Western Australia. Painting the steps pink and yellow is a very recent thing and I have no idea why! I tried googling to find out, but was unsuccessful.

Unfortunately I don't have a photo of our Museum which is located across the street from the Art Gallery, however, the museum is in an old building and looks a little more like the one Reeshy posted. I will try to get a photo of it in the near future.

MotherGoose, it's very nice! I like the steps; it's something different. smile What does the writing on the steps say?

Even though the snow makes her feet cold, Precious keeps begging me to take her outside. Shortly after this she bolted up the steps and sat at the door making indignant yowing noises until I opened it.

Aw! What happened to her leg?

I was out at Adobe Mountain Wildlife Center today -- it's a rehab center for wildlife here in Phoenix (injured animals, rescued animals, etc). This is a skunk that lives there -- she's been de-scented wink

My daughter made these earrings for me and I love them.

If you mean why is Precious holding her paw in such an appealing manner, it's just cold. She alternates holding them up, shaking them and telling me off smile

Love your wildlife pics, PDAZ, and MotherGoose those earrings are lovely!

Lucy had the same white front and paws as Precious, it's probably a common tabby gene as I've noticed many others.
Here's the whole garden and house from the flowerbed last week.

There are wooden bollards on all corners of an intersection I sometimes pass through. Each is decorated to represent a member of the local community. I loved this one. Neatly painted on the back was the lady's name and the title, "Foster Mother."

Auntie1, that's a lovely idea! smile

Here's a record breaker! laugh It's the tallest cinema in the world, located in Glasgow, Scotland. I saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 in here, and the cinema rooms themselves are also HUGE! There are escalators because they have so many floors, haha! smile Generally just a pretty cool cinema. smile

My daughter does belly-dancing and, as with most forms of dancing, requires elaborate costumes. Here is one of her recent costumes in the construction stage. She finished it before Christmas and I am still vacuuming up those little golden seed beads which have managed to find their way into every corner of the house!

Here's another of the street bollards near my home. This one bears the name of a boy and "Newport Baseball Club."
I love the scruffy little grey terrier at his left side.

Those are such fun Auntie. Are they only at that intersection, or in other parts of town?

A modernist house in Harrow, sadly none still had their original windows

Hi. I'm just giving a heads-up to people who are posting from Photobucket using the IMG code. It resizes fine for horizontal pictures, but for vertical pictures, the height dimension comes out too long. I was alerted to this for one of my pictures, but realized it's only happening to the vertical ones. I've seen a couple other vertical ones whose dimensions are also too long. Just to let people know smile If needed, there are online resizers where you can keep the original too, or you can resize your picture on Photobucket itself, but this is permanent.

Thanks Reeshy, I left a message on the other thread about this. I hope no one has too much difficulty. I am sure this has not always happened with Photobuck.

A test of the abilities I have been taught by the nice folks at Fun Trivia Forums. My front flowerbed from about Christmas time.

And the continuation around the porch end toward the east. Also to see are my Bouganvilla and my horizontal aluminum pinwheel. Altogether it's 35 feet of Marigolds.(Got to straighten out the edging someday)

Mother Goose/Reeshy: I sent a note off to the Art Gallery of WA a week or so ago. Here's the response I just received:

From: Adrian Griffiths
Subject: Pink Steps
The pink steps are part of a revamp of the Perth Cultural Centre. There is no reason as to the selection other than the designer putting 6 colours together that worked well to create an overall concept for the Cultural Centre. The steps near the Gallery are Pink and Yellow, The State Library steps are Orange and Purple whilst the third set of steps are Red and Green. Throughout the area there are coloured way finding stripes that lead to the central court yard area. Our colour is Pink so if you follow the lines then you can find your way to the front entrances of the buildings. The writing is of no direct input other than sayings like there are 7 colours of the rainbow etc. Near the library for example they have writing relating to books. Along the way finding stripes they will indicate the buildings you are approaching or sugest taking time out to enjoy the Urban Orchard or Native Wetlands.

I hope this gives you an idea of what has taken place at the Perth Cultural Centre

A random shot of suburban Harrow. I've lived in the suburbs all my life so fascinated both with seeing more views of ones I know and others. My favourites here are where Spanishliz is as it looks like the Canadian version of ours, ie a lot more space and straighter roads.
