I am leaving January's open for a few hours so the slowcoach areas of the world can catch up.
We will have to pull out all the stops to beat January's quality. However, I have no doubt February will produce some more stunners.

Not something worth looking forward to, but it is here. This is sleet that has accumulated here in Dallas. We may be seeing it on the ground until Friday when the temperatures finally warm to above freezing.

Another picture here.

Wow, February already! Where does the time go?!

This is a church on my university's campus. It's the Wellington Church, and it's most notable for its Corinthian columns! My sister and I frequently call it the "temple" or "Pantheon" as it really looks like it!

One of my favourite roads in Mill Hill. Being on a hill myself I can see half the area from my upstairs window.

Quiz Beagle, is that an oak tree?

Continuing our tour of Williamstown;

The timeball tower was built on Point Gellibrand from local bluestone. It replaced a wooden lighthouse.
Each day at 1pm, the ball was lowered, allowing ships off-shore to adjust their chronometers.

The building in the background is part of a ship-building complex which has existed on this site from the early days of settlement.

@auntie1 - can't remember - sorry :-(

Is it warm in here?

Yes, it's definitely a little 'otter!

(A joke I never get tired of - and never sit next to me in an Indian restaurant if you order Tarka dal...)

Ahem. An otter at Cotswold Wildlife Park.

And when things get warm...

I hope everyone gets to go for a ride. (Can anyone figure out the one on the end, lower right? That front wheel seems to exist in more than the two dimensions of the rest of them. I'll have to go back to look again next week when they get my new chain.)

I'm loving all of these!

Despite the heavy snow today, Precious begged to go outside, even before I had a chance to shovel. Then she told me off in no uncertain terms, and begged to go back inside.

Unlike most council estates this is both very suburban and has spacious houses inside. This was also where my second home was as a child as my nanny lived just off this road and stayed with her during the days when my parents were working and a number of nights too and her family was like my own. I kept visiting well into the late 80s when her husband died and she moved away.

Life of Aloe goes on...

The seed pods are the brown nutty looking pods with the blond sheath remains of the blooms stuck to the pod base. There are about ten pods on this stalk! I should get lots of seed. Has anyone grown Aloe from seed before that might offer hints to its germanation? This stuff clones so easy by just sticking a piece of stem in the ground, why am I growing seeds of it?
