Ertrum: I'm sure it was something minor. Please tell us what you tried to do and someone WILL help you. We were all newbies here at some point, no worries!

Yes, ertrum, I will delete it if you want but go in there again press the edit button and try once more to post your photo. Did you copy the "image" url from Photobucket, or whatever site you used? Don't give up yet.

I was trying to pull from Facebook, which may not be the best idea in any case. Have any of y'all succeeded in doing this?

Hmmm - this time the url looks right, but the img tags don't seem to work? (sigh)

On further examination... The picture is probably too big. It's over the 640x480 limits. And Facebook don't have scaling tools. So,
I'm thinking this is a hint that Facebook pictures shouldn't be used in here...

I shall pursue the elusive photobucket.

With success as seen above.

(Note to self - don't use Facebook for FT photos)

I don't think links from Facebook work, I'm not sure they ever did but now that Facebook has stunned the world with its exciting and inviting absolutely awful image viewer it has shoved a whole load more gobbledygook inside the URL to call up its exciting and inviting absolutely awful image viewer - and that viewer doesn't work here, thank heavens.

I love the message in your photo by the way. If you look at the sign in the image I posted it says "Prime fresh fish from the Felixstowe ferry" which made me wonder why anyone would take the ferry to catch fish but at least the fish don't come with a health warning! grin

Scary stuff, PCB's. What I found "amusing" was that they provided the Spanish term for "Fish Warning", but the rest of the poster was all in English. I mean, why bother? lol.

Glad you were finally successful, Ertrum!

Another parlimental building - the Reichstag in Berlin.

Is 'parlimental' a word? Seems like it ought to be, especially the second half. smile )

Western Australia's Parliament House is in the background of this photo but is obscured by the Barracks Arch.

The Arch is all that remains of the Pensioner Barracks which were built to house the soldiers (and their families) of the Enrolled Pensioner Forces, as well as some retired veterans who had been honourably discharged from the British Army. They were sent to WA to guard the convicts that were transported to the colony from 1850 to 1865.

The government started to demolish the Barracks back in the 1960s to make way for the new Parliament House and the Mitchell Freeway, however, vigorous protest from the public resulted in most of the Barracks being torn down, but the Arch retained and restored, thus spoiling the politicians' view down St Georges Terrace (which is where I am standing on the median strip taking this photo).

Well the Louvre was once the palace for Philip II of France, so it might qualify as parliamental...

On the subject of Art Galleries, lets move from chocolates to boiled lollies.......

This building was an electrical substation owned by Victorian Railways at Newport. It was closed down, fell into disrepair and was a haven for vandals.
A massive community effort saw it refurbished by volunteers and apprentices from the local TAFE, and it is now a thriving Community Arts Centre.

This thread is a little long and unwieldy, so I am about to start Photo Chain 2. Let me know if there are any problems.
I will leave this one unlocked until someone posts in the next. Thanks all, this is a wonderful thread indeed!
