The camellias next to the kerria. Someone has to pick up all the fallen flowers sooner or later, it might be me.

I've never seen anything like it before but maybe a place to start for racing pigeons?

A holder for funerary urns? It looks like a couple of places are occupied already.

OR

28 holes- is it some sort of calendar?

I think it's something that was once used for keeping bees

Copago: lol on the "shark"

Jakeroo has it. It is a very famous and unique store for bee skeps. Well known in Gloucestershire, it is in fact situated in Hartpury Agricultural College. It seems old but is in fact 19th Century. Here's the story
Well done!

Just one of the birds from the Rutland Falconry and Owl Centre. A few more to follow.

Ren: Really? well that's cool. I'd have never guessed bees except that ozzzzzzz noticed that two of the niches had something in them, which to me looked like the wicker thingies my greatgrandmother made. She tended bees until age 96 in Saskatchewan. She died at age 97.

ertrum: LOL loved those SNL skits

RMG: he/she is a beauty! Can't wait for more.

This is a filly named Bailey, born on April 8, 2011! Her mom is called Kahlua, and is one of the horses my daughter rode to a championship a few years ago.

I have really been enjoying the photos this month. I love the painted bollards. What a great idea!

Ren, my guess was the same as Ozzz’s - would never have guessed it was to do with bees.

Loved the land shark (it brought back memories of watching “Saturday Night Live” back in the early 1980s when I lived in California).

Am loving all the horse pictures too.

At the end of last month, I posted some pictures I took at the Underwater Observatory in Busselton which is situated at the end of the jetty. This is a photograph of the beginning of the jetty where the visitor information centre, museum and ticket booth are located.

Fabulous turtle pic!

This is the Visitor's Center in downtown Scottsdale, Arizona. The chimneys caught my attention -- I'd not seen bricks used like that before.

Very stylish! I lined one of my car interiors with yellow fur once and the fashion seems to have stopped soon after that. I think I get half a mark for pigeons, as animals with wings was relatively close, maybe?

Here's a rather nice country road in Headley more or less in the middle of nowhere, Surrey.

Like the furry scooter and the cattle on the road brought back memories of the fifties and sixties when such sights were fairly common here.

Even though it rained today (and thundered), Precious wanted to go outside and chase her stick. This involves me turning in circles and dragging the stick for her to chase. Needless to say, I get dizzy and am happy to take a break when she catches it, as she has here. She also has her eye on a robin across the road...

Continuing my current fixation on novelty pedestrian bollards;
This one guards the pedestrian underpass to the Newport rail station, and commemorates the heavy industry that one thrived locally at Newport's Railway Workshops.
