Are you sure it doesn't commemorate the feeling of the workers after the industry left? :-)

There are several large owls at the sanctuary.

Amazing flowers Trev, they've actually eclipsed the displays I take every year in Hampstead Garden Suburb, and that takes some doing.

A typical country scene in Burrows Cross on the North Downs in Surrey

Szabs: Golfmom is right... they DO seem to have their eyes on you LOL
Gees: LOVELY capture of the dew/raindrops on the flower
Liz: Loved the "getting dizzy" anecdote. And yes you picked a good name for her : )
QB: LOL, moo-ped indeed! That's great!

I COULD post more snow pix, but Satguru's "dream of green" has me thinking of warmer climes than mine, so this is sunrise (one month ago) on a beach near Cabos:

Oh Wow! we are surpassing ourselves as usual.
Apologies for yet another Mango Tree photo, but I am so thrilled at the amount of blossom and am thinking about a mango chutney factory.

A slight change from the birds. This is a clump of trees on a tiny peninsular jutting out into Rutland Water.

It is one of the largest artificial lakes in Europe and covers over 3000 acres. There is a walking/cycling track around it that is 25 miles long.

Lol about all your comments on the cows, I was actually sitting in my little red car (can be seen in the 2 week theme "old") feeling quite unprotected at the time, as the first cow seemed to be coming straight at me, but then they just passed by very calmly minding their own business.

Trev: What a beautiful array of colour.
Jake: Love the sunrise, its so calming
Ren: I can smell your mango trees from here.

This worker bee was so covered in pollen that she had difficulty in flying away.

That must be a regional thing, as my photos are also hosted there, and are still showing up, and Photobucket just loaded for me.

QB: it's a conspiracy lol

Szabs: FABULOUS Frog! That would make a great screensaver!

Satguru: absolutely LOVE those fence rails. The closest wood here that would end up with that result is diamond willow (old stand).

A small section of the "grounds" at the resort we stayed at:

As well as mango blossoms we seem to have a glut of these. Had to bring them in before the wind flattened them.

A number of the buildings downtown are having the ugly metal cladding, that was added in the 1970s, removed to reveal the much more pleasing brickwork beneath. Spotted this effort this afternoon.

Liz, what were they thinking, covering buildings like that? The brick's much better.

Everyone I know has been asking that question! The brick is lovely, and some of the buildings are stone, though most of those didn't get the ugly treatment, thank goodness.

I thought this little floral display in Beaconsfield was quite impressive until I saw Jakeroo's! But as we're not near the tropics here our British versions are a little more subdued but equally pleasing.

It was 8 years yesterday(13 Apr)since we collected our dog Lady from the cat and dog shelter so I am posting a recent favourite picture of her and Mollie.

Lady was thought to be about 6 months when we got her, this picture was taken in October when we looked after Mollie for a couple of weeks this was one of the few moments when they were quiet

Puppies of course are adorable, but I find nothing more touching than the loyalty in the eyes of an older dog with a greying muzzle.
