Your last owl shot is my favourite, RMG! Gorgeous pic.

This last weekend was the annual Goat Muster. I think I post pics each year. It's a day at Wanaaring (middle of nowhere) and they do bike races for the kids and then various 'goat' events like "catch and tie" and milk the nanny. It's great fun and a day that we'll go to all sorts of lengths to get to. There had been some rain and a 200km stretch of the trip took 6 hours. It was a shocker with wet slippery sloppy roads. Not a great pic but I hope you get the idea smile

Taken on the way to Matheran, a small hill station near Bombay. No vehicles are allowed there so you can either take a small train or trek up.

Wonderful view. I watched a TV program not too long ago about some of the hill stations served by a railway. It all went back to colonial times but the people that worked on the line were so committed to keeping it going it was a joy to watch.

Earlier, someone had posted a pic about seagulls and their ability to drink seawater. Here's one that preferred chlorine with no salt in the infinity pool

Closed at the moment while the inside is refurbished back to its former glory. That is what the 2 posters refer to.

How lovely that building is. If it were here it would have been pulled down long ago to make way for another glass/concrete monstrosity.

That is impressive, bhs63! I also love the old Theatre building.

My friend's store seems to be ready for Easter!

Last of the owls I'm afraid. If we go back to the sanctuary I'll take more.

A country road in a village called Fickleshole. Search me why it's called that.

Several years ago we went to visit friends in Leyburn. It's right in the middle of Wensleydale, otherwise known as 'Herriot Country'. This picture, one of several I took, is of the River Ure running over Aysgarth Falls.

Those young emus must have only recently outgrown their juvenile longitudinal stripes. Interesting to note that the male parent broods the eggs and raises the chicks while Mumma struts her stuff elsewhere.

This is Rodney:

Rodney guards the tea rooms at a local stately home. I know he's called Rodney, he told me to "say hello, Rodney". wink

Coton Manor, it's just up the road from me, or just down the road from Naseby - take your pick, according to which you think is more famous. wink

Satguru, that really is a beautiful view. It looks so quiet and peaceful.

Andrea, interesting procession. I would like to see it some time.

"Oh, to be in England
Now that April's there,
And whoever wakes in England
Sees, some morning, unaware,
That the lowest boughs and the brushwood sheaf
Round the elm-tree bole are in tiny leaf,
While the chaffinch sings on the orchard bough
In England - now!"

Browning sent me in search of a quintessential English spring flower yesterday, and I found quite a lot of them, albeit in a beechwood:

Absolutely stunning picture. You've caught the light wonderfully. What camera did you use?

Thanks. grin

I have a Nikon D40X which when I bought it three or four years ago was the greatest thing since sliced bread... now there are super duper models which can do everything except wash socks but my D40X does do brilliant colour so I'm sticking with it. (And with my bank balance, lol.)
