Satguru, that really is a beautiful view. It looks so quiet and peaceful.

Andrea, interesting procession. I would like to see it some time.

"Oh, to be in England
Now that April's there,
And whoever wakes in England
Sees, some morning, unaware,
That the lowest boughs and the brushwood sheaf
Round the elm-tree bole are in tiny leaf,
While the chaffinch sings on the orchard bough
In England - now!"

Browning sent me in search of a quintessential English spring flower yesterday, and I found quite a lot of them, albeit in a beechwood:

Absolutely stunning picture. You've caught the light wonderfully. What camera did you use?

Thanks. grin

I have a Nikon D40X which when I bought it three or four years ago was the greatest thing since sliced bread... now there are super duper models which can do everything except wash socks but my D40X does do brilliant colour so I'm sticking with it. (And with my bank balance, lol.)

An English bluebell Hyacinthoides non-scripta. This photo is subtitled "how to persuade your camera that you went mad and bought a macro lens when in fact you just got friendly with a flower."

Some gorgeous pictures from you all. I'm directing a play at the moment, so not getting home until late, plus the Photobucket problems I mentioned up there, plus the fact that I got back from the theatre the other night to find that Butu had taken my wireless mouse and either eaten it, hidden it or sold it on E-bay. Hoping to return tomorrow...

You can just keep taking photos in the Chiltern hills, every one is different and just as good

The recent offerings from England's Green and Pleasant Land have been lovely.

I recently gave my grandson a jigsaw puzzle which proved to be way too difficult for his age.
I hope this one will be more to his liking.

Wow, Flopsy, what fields are those? They remind me of the mustard fields of North India - a Bollywood staple. smile

It's rapeseed, grown mainly for oil and animal feed. It's a brassica, so is related to mustard. smile

There's another view here:

http://tinyurl.com/3mjfo2l

I'm expecting a crowd to appear any minute, all singing Jai Ho!

Edit: Ren posted while I was fetching that link... we don't grow garlic here, sorry. smile

I was hoping to get view of fields of linseed next to the rape, as linseed flowers are bright blue and neighbouring fields in different colours can look very pretty - but the rape is early this year. Either that, or our local farmers have found a more lucrative crop!
