Here we go with "There was an Old Lady "
Lets try and keep the song in order like we did with the 12 days of Christmas.
So who said they had a fly all ready to start?

This is either a deer fly or a horse fly, I don't quite remember, but it did leave a welt on my arm when it bit me!

SpanishLiz: OUCH! (I've been bitten by both, as well as many others. For some reason bugs LOVE me lol)

Ren: so what are the "rules" for this one? Can we post every day or so like we did for 12 days of Xmas (meaning one for every critter), or only 1 picture per week?

"There was an old lady who swallowed a spider,
That wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside her,
She swallowed the spider to catch the fly..."

(Hmm, is that the Old Lady's reflection?)

My resident spider has suddenly become camera-shy.
So, moving right along....

There was an old lady who swallowed a bird.
Unsure what it is. I think it's a starling, but willing to stand corrected.

oh-oh, if she can't swallow something the size of a parrot, she'll surely die before we get to the horse!

It's not "quite" spring here yet, but the robins have arrived. This one has resorted to flapping its wings as the branch it is on is too small to support its weight. The boid is trying to get at the apples that didn't fall off the tree last autumn:

Okay, am pretty sure you ALL have a bird picture, so today/tomorrow should be a busy place in here : )

There was an old lady who went for a walk
I know why she went for a walk
She went for a walk to see English flowers
And what she saw was a pair of flaming flamingos!

shocked

This is my Zoe, who wouldn't know what to do with a bird if she caught one. I've never seen her climb a tree and she's afraid of most birds because she's been "swooped" by magpies, crows and bluejays. Besides, why go to the bother of "hunting" when some WELL trained human will give you cooked chicken or turkey (white meat only please lol)?

Precious spends a lot of time these days staring out the window at the birds, and making little yipping noises. She's only allowed outside with me, though, and I warn the birds to keep out of the way!

Love all the pictures of the insects, birds and cats. The kitties are so cute! laugh

Here is my cat Kiarita. If you look at her nose and mouth, you'll notice they are dirty. The day I took this picture, they had been fixing the TV and of course, she had to get in the middle of it all. So she got her face dirty with soot. I thought she looked hilarious grin. Then I cleaned her face and although she didn't like that much, she didn't complain a lot either. She's a very good kitty.

Cut flowers are a rarity in my house. Bijou usually tips the vase over to drink the water.

My mother's cat, originally named Bronson by his previous owner, but re-christened "Bronnie" because my mum didn't think Bronson was a suitable name for a cat. He is a ragdoll and the most adorable, affectionate cat. I am sure he couldn't harm a fly or a spider!

Sara - help! I resized my picture and according to Photobucket, it is only 105 x 140 pixels. But when I copy and paste it here, it shows as 479 x 639 pixels.

I don't know whether Sara fixed it for you or not, but from here the pic shows at 240 x 320 pixels. But even at 479 x 639, that would still be an acceptable size. No worries!

Bronnie is gorgeous! My Zoe is supposedly a ragdoll too (albeit a runt), but if you can get her to "go limp" for more than 3 seconds, you're either a magician or a hypnotist lol.

edited because I don't seem to be able to type today

This is Zendai. He failed Guide Dog training, but found his niche as a companion to a special young man. They are two of the many personalities who frequent our neighbourhood shopping centre.
