EASTERN DURY BUCKMOTH Hemileuca maia (complex))
Native to North America, found from Maine, west to Kansas, South to Florida, Gulf States and Texas; Conservation "usually not required (translation: Will eat anything in your closet, not picky!); 2-3 inch wingspan.

The name is buckmoth, and I know the word moth is excluded, but it was all one work everywhere I looked. So I will defer to greater minds as to what letter this sets up...
