I always thought there was to be another Badge as per note 2 when originally announced, as I believe a lot of other players did.

You are right! It says,
"2. We shall add a second cumulative badge for the triathlon, but it will be at a relatively high value. The intent is that it should only be available after a number of months. We will choose a value and post that new badge sometime soon."

Really! Oh my goodness, it's hard enough trying to get to 1000! I'm about half way there...

In the Don't Stop challenge the description says "Oh, and get half of the answers correct." but I've gotten credit (green check mark) for one where I scored 4/10 and one where I scored 7/15. Is this a bug?

Ooh, I misunderstood. The triathlon makes more sense. My mind thought you said brains. Lol. Late night last night. wink

Blech. I can't stand triathlon. I will never win a badge for a high value. I stink at the mixed game.

Oh well, can't win them all. wink

Bring on a new triathlon badge!

You and me both. laugh I could not get more than 700 points in that game to save my life...and on top of that, I'm awful at Who's the Smartest.

But if people want more Triathlon badges, then so be it. It'll just be one I can never get...like the Winner Takes It All. :-P

Triathlon is OK. I've even managed the first Winner Takes it All, but the second one is driving me crazy. It's even more annoying to know Salami has it...

No need to rub it in. Maybe inspiration will strike one day. I've had a couple of ideas, but just can't make it all fit.

I never ever thought I'd get the Triathlon because I just can't match the speeds of the usual suspects in the Piece of Cake up in the Champs division (and ended up in Champs because I had the badges when it was set up so got Grandfathered in) but I did it last week laugh
I'm still not quite sure how lol, I was playing various hourlies for my daily challenges and the badge just arrived, even though I was about 12th or so in the PoC. It is possible if you keep at it, honestly laugh
I may even get the ABBA thing one of these days! I think I'm at the last password and eventually I'll get it!

My Triathlon theory is that speed is less important than getting the questions right. If I get under 20 seconds in POC I think I've done well, and getting all three scores into the 900+ range gives you a fighting chance. Getting 10/10 is the hard bit, of course. I have to hope that the Smartest game is a topic I like and take my chances with the other two.

I found that, for me, the key to Triathlon is finding a time when I get all 10 for Who's the Smartest, preferably with a score around 920. Then if I can manage all 10 fast enough to get over 900 in Mixed, I can take my time in Piece of Cake, making sure I get them all right. Doing it in 40 seconds is snail's pace for that game, but still worth enough points to get a respectable total for Triathlon. I won it when I managed to do that in a lucky hour, and still tend to use that approach for collection Tri-points.

I can get my 10 in easy just fine. The trick is the other two. I score 10 right in hard game once every few days, and the mixed game even less frequently. To match all three at once.... Is tough.

10 in easy, 9 in hard, 5 in mixed. Well, that's better than the average. Lol.

Sigh. frown

Salami, you need to play mixed every hour - the questions start to look familiar, and you get faster and more accurate. I decided that I wanted to contribute to the team score in that game, and needed to get at least 900 points to do so. Playing until I reached that target each day led to steady improvement for me, and you can do it too. smile

For hard, it's a matter of doing the same thing for a few chosen categories in which you already feel you have a reasonable chance, and hammering them every time they come up.

As a bonus, all of this helps in the GC, too.

Just wondered why "The Daily Game Champ Badge" is not a badge issued to the highest score who has not yet got the badge like so many others.

Last year out of 365 days only 22 badges won and again this year so far only 2 Badges won. I know that makes it more enjoyable when you do actually win

The same players seem to be 1st every day, making almost impossible for us mere mortals to get a look in.

That's the point, the Daily Champ badge is one of the few badges where you still have to beat everyone to get it, a true accomplishment indeed beating over 2000 players. I remember there use to be a time where that was the norm, beating everyone in an hour to win a badge instead of all of these divisions. I hope this will stick around as is and I'm sure many of the older players who had to work their way to the top agree with me.

Have there been some recent changes or tweaks to the Badgelet pics?

Here's something I noticed awhile ago when I was reviewing the badges and badgelets on my profile and on some others. I notice that almost all have a little pop-up window with the description for each. Exceptions to this are the Underdog KO, Underdog 2, and 4 of 7 badgelets where it just says 'badge', no pop-up window. Badges missing the description are 6 of 7 and Dogs. I don't have some of those myself but checked some other profiles to see.

Dogs hasn't had the pop-up description as long as I remember.

Nor the Fantasy KO badges mentioned. It was brought up at one time before... I wonder why it wasn't ever fixed?
