daBomb619 is by the way the first player to have crossed into chapter 3. He seems determined to get through all this in record time!

No, the scores are tough, but not impossible. I just accidentally undid a lot of what I had accomplished.

Uhm... ouch! Sorry - can't put a confirm box on those links. Terry would have to do that (but it seems like a good idea, although you found one of the worst places in the game to misclick)

Want me to put you back where you were? (and that score was a bit higher than I want it at this stage anyway, so changing it wasn't too bad a move. Didn't have all the data I had later when I wrote the first stages.)

I've fallen into a trap, too, by failing to concentrate. The only consolation is that I'm far from alone.

One of our team, user name horadada, was given the task yesterday of scoring 20,000 points. She did, and won the Endurance Badge in the process, but tells me that today she faces the same challenge of scoring 20,000 points. Is this correct?

I see what happened... she has completed the task but not returned to the stage to register the success. Now she came back today and of course the system didn't see the 20,000 points any more.

I'll move her to the correct location and add a note that you should always return to the stage and advance after meeting a points per day requirement.

Help please. Did not have the Endurance Badge so played and reached the 20,000+ points for the Ascension Quest and did not go back until later after the reset. Surprised to see I had to do it all over again. Would very much like to have this corrected if possible. Thanks.

One of our team (Tigershark79) can't access the video for the 'Winner Takes it All' challenge. She's in France, and has tried the alternate links, but they don't work either. Is there any other possible solution (apart from moving)?

Our team leader (beergirllaura) would have asked this, but she's logged out of the forums, and the temporary password solution she's been sent doesn't work.

Is there a French site with the video on it, like a French version of YouTube? I can't access YouTube here in China, but there are several Chinese sites similar to YouTube with that video on them. Or I suppose someone who can access the video could download it and email to her, although I've never tried that, so that's just a guess. smile

One option would be for her to use a proxy server to log on to YouTube - if she chooses one in the USA it should (with luck) fool YouTube into thinking she's in the US and let her watch the video. If you need further help on how to do this, please send me a PM.

Hecky thump, flopsymopsy! Could you set one of those proxy server things up for me and perhaps a couple of fictitious bank accounts in the Cayman Islands? ;))

Ha! If I had accounts in the Cayman Islands, think I'd be on here trying to get out of Wesley's snares?

I woke up this morning to the Monster II badgelet in my profile. But, that came in only as I'd finished 19980 questions. I did the next 15 (to 19995) today, so I won't reach 20,000 until tomorrow. There must be something wrong with this, as it arrived long before I reached the milestone.

There is a reason for it, though I'm not sure what. For instance, the 10,000 badge is won at 9990, because tat is coincidentally 666 games. So it is awarded early. As I recall, that was what was once said...

Not sure the reasoning for the other numbers though.

I would suspect that the database stores number of games, not questions. So Terry took 10000/15 = 666.67 and rounded down to 666. 666x2=1332... smile (Should be 667 and 1334 to give the exact targets)

But then it's not a big problem I guess. You get a 0.1% discount for being awesome smile

Well, by that logic, then, one should round up, not down. A player doesn't answer 10,000 questions until he has played 667 games, not 666. Question #10,000 comes in the middle of the 667th game.

It wouldn't actually prevent anyone from getting their badge before being entitled to it. By the end of the 666th game, a player has answered 9990 questions. (No badge; that's less than 10K.) By the end of the 667th game, he has answered 10,0005 questions. (Badge! Yay!)

Not saying I don't appreciate the discount. Just saying that NOT having the discount wouldn't be unfair, either. wink

Grace, I know (I've studied some math, so there) - I've just been trying to explain the likely reason for the discrepancy.

Wes, your mathematical ability far exceeds mine. I was just suggesting that it could be changed without being unfair. smile
