Or Martin has another Brainwave!
Match book titles to Photos. I have awarded Martin first pick. Please only post one idea per week for now. Thanks . I look forward to this one!

Thank you, I'm glad you liked my idea and I hope it's a success.

(This might not be the best one to start with but it's all I could think of this
early in the day.)

Wow. Are those gorgeous flowers real flopsy? They seem too vivid to be real smile Anyway, here's Oliver Twist as seen in Auckland.

They were real, yes. They formed a suspended carpet of flowers - each stem went through a mesh and was inserted into a tube filled with water. The tubes were bound with thread so that they looked like bobbins - like this and this. The floral exhibition was in Salisbury Cathedral - the Royal Wilton Carpet Factory used to be in a neighbouring town, hence the association with carpet-making.

Edited to include second image.

Here's my recently "gone to God" feline resting on a metal garage covering.. otherwise known as a "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof". Apologies for the poor photo. I took it with my mobile phone while I had the chance. Scout loved sleeping on the roof in the sun. It's a hard life being a pampered cat. wink

LOL, why does it always rain in Venice? Still, I did buy a very snazzy umbrella there so the downpours weren't a total disaster - apart, that is, from being soaked to the skin before we got to the umbrella shop. laugh

This house is in an old suburb full of houses with character and features. This new house is cold, unwelcoming and reminds me of a Dickensian work house or an prison. My best friend thinks of it as "cold". I think it's perfect for ..

Yes me too Zorba. You folks are probably finished already, we're still waiting (this is day FIVE now) for our second quiz of leg 5 to even get online - so I'm trying to distract myself by revisiting other areas of FT as well (it's either that, or I'll have no nails left by tomorrow LOL). We already realise we'll be last, but we'd like to at least FINISH ; )

Christina: those Humboldt penguins are SO cute. I know they look like "clowns" but they're pretty intelligent for birdbrains. We were very lucky to visit the Calgary Zoo quite early in the morning (so no lineups!) this past week to see their newly opened Penguin Plunge exhibit/habitat. I got the impression they were even more curious about "us" LOL.

"Red Rock Mysteries" (series by Jerry B. Jenkins and Chris Fabry)

photo taken at Red Rock Canyon, Nevada USA. It's only about 25 miles from Vegas, so if you get bored losing money, it's well worth the short sidetrip.

love the horses, Christina!

Mike: am very jealous. Haven't been out of my own hemisphere yet. Excellent photo and
interesting concept that the people are sort of in a cage too lol.

It was. Just jumped off the wall in my downstairs bathroom when nobody (including the cat) was near it. As it broke itself, I choose not to be superstitious about it wink

CmdrK: Haven't checked in this particular thread very recently, but (a delayed) Welcome to you! Hope you'll post more : )

Gees: Fits the song PERfectly. (not that anyone cares, but "daddy long legs" is usually a nickname for a certain spider on this side of the pond. Some folks over here (with the possible exception of the Maritime provinces) are more likely to call the insect in your photo a 'mosquito hawk'. It's actually a crane fly). Cool post Gees!

Thanks ren and Jakeroo. It's the old knot garden at Hatfield House. You can't go round it as it's part of the private gardens, but they've got viewing points every so often, which is better in a way as you need to see a knot garden from above to appreciate it.

(kickstart alert)

You are always most kind Zorba, but you have no idea how jealous I am of YOUR pics (and the places you have been). I hope you continue to contribute since many of us will probably never venture to many of the locations you have spotlighted.

Cmdrk: VERY appropriate to the theme. And would be a beautiful picture even if it didn't match a "theme" at all : ) You're lucky to live where you do - many varying opportunities.
