Thank you, I'm glad you liked my idea and I hope it's a success.

(This might not be the best one to start with but it's all I could think of this
early in the day.)

A little bit too much weaponry to complete the task but...

This is a pretty obvious one but I thought I'd better get to it before anyone else did. smile

Wow. Are those gorgeous flowers real flopsy? They seem too vivid to be real smile Anyway, here's Oliver Twist as seen in Auckland.

They were real, yes. They formed a suspended carpet of flowers - each stem went through a mesh and was inserted into a tube filled with water. The tubes were bound with thread so that they looked like bobbins - like this and this. The floral exhibition was in Salisbury Cathedral - the Royal Wilton Carpet Factory used to be in a neighbouring town, hence the association with carpet-making.

Edited to include second image.

Thanks Ren for permitting the new ongoing theme!

Movie: film noir starring Joan Crawford, Zachary Scott and Sydney Greenstreet (1949)
Tv Series: shortlived soap (1980-82) supposedly based on both the book and the movie

Here's my recently "gone to God" feline resting on a metal garage covering.. otherwise known as a "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof". Apologies for the poor photo. I took it with my mobile phone while I had the chance. Scout loved sleeping on the roof in the sun. It's a hard life being a pampered cat. wink

LOL, why does it always rain in Venice? Still, I did buy a very snazzy umbrella there so the downpours weren't a total disaster - apart, that is, from being soaked to the skin before we got to the umbrella shop. laugh

So I went up to the lookout in Christchurch, NZ, with the aim of taking lots of lovely snaps of the city and surrounds. You can see a board in the foreground which shows exactly what I was supposed to see. Instead all I saw was...

The Fog by James Herbert..

And aren't I happy I can use that photo for something other than a laugh! laugh
