Here it is- the tipping comp that no-one understands! Australians playing soccer? The A-league realised that playing football in mid-summer in north Queensland was a stupid idea, therefore we are back to a 10-team comp (no byes). There will still be the occasional game on Wednesdays, and also one entire round will be played midweek, in early January, 2012. Most rounds will commence on Friday evening, with a couple on Thursday- these will be clearly noted. Get your names on the list and also do not forget your lucky darts/octopus/tea leaves!  Rules [*] Threads will close prior to the start of the first game. [*] A bonus point will be awarded for a perfect score. [*] A bonus point will also be awarded for anyone that tips a result solo. [*] Ties will be broken in the following order 1)- HoF/Spoon differential 2)- Most Hall of Fame awards [*] Picks of all home games will be penalised a point. [*] Default will be equal to the lowest score each round. [*] Late starters will be given a score equivalent to the last-placed active tipster. Sign-up is conditional on two things. [*] Be prepared to stick it out for 26 weeks. [*] Vuvazelas are STILL banned! First round starts Saturday, October 8, and fixtures will be posted very soon.

- Season 2011-12 of the A-League soccer is up and running. We have 13 starters so far and one of the newer members has got off to a nice start.
- wwe84 scored 4/5 to hold an early lead. Can he keep it up, or is it a flash-in-the-pan?
- At the other end of the table BxBarracuda's dartboard must have been out of order. He is in good company, however, as four of the A-League teams also failed to score.

- FussBudget earned the first bonus point of the comp, by picking a perfect 5 from 5. This took him from eighth to equal second. He joins wwe84 and George95 in that position- they both scored a spoon.
- Sypher, srini701 and LeoDaVinci also picked up a spoon each, and are spotting the leaders a rather generous start.

- Last week's logjam in second was blown apart by poor returns by wwe84 and George95. Howie72 had a shocker and dropped to ninth.

- Another pretty ordinary week as far as our tipping went. wwe84 and Sypher topped the scoring with 3/5, while triviapaul and N-Bomb both scored zero.
- gtho4 continues to lead, but his margin is down to a solitary point.

- wwe84 picked 4/5 in a very difficult week, and screams into the lead. He has opened up a two point gap over erstwhile leader, and this week's spooner, gtho4.
- Sydney was upset by little brother, Central Coast and Melbourne Heart had a win. Brisbane has not been beaten for many weeks now, and Newcastle was their latest victim.

There were 22 correct picks and there were 17 goals scored- pretty pathetic, eh? And only wwe has more than a 50% score, with 18/35.

Seems pretty typical for this comp, though. No one has ever done well. Looking back, the best percentage was around 40% correct as a whole for the entire comp. If you remember, I posted something awhile back (2011 Copa America) showing the top ten worst, and at the time, this comp had nine of them. It is still at eight out of ten now.
