He's a bear with attitude, why not use and abuse him while you can, eh? Love your card, and that flourish!

That looks great, Toni! That background paper is perfect smile

Changed to the rabbit from the bear this week. I think I should have done a bit more to the panel he is on but anyway - it'll be right. smile

I'm really getting into spraying my backgrounds and using masks! They really allow you to personalise any background perfectly.

Love your card, and your little rabbit! His ears are ginormous!!! What's the paper collection? I really love all those cheery colours!

Thanks! The paper was Lime Twist. smile

WHen you spray the backgrounds do you make up the spray yourself or is it a bought product? Would be fun to cut out and make your own masks.

I use a mix of purpose-bought spray inks (glimmer mist, but I find the colour not intense enough), or the Adirondack color washes which are great, and some sprays which I have made up myself. For that I dilute regular india ink in water and add some perfect pearls if I want it to shimmer. I have also used the kids liquid water paints, diluted in water or some acrylic paint again diluted to a good consistency in water. This is the cheapest option and gives great coverage and colour, particularly for the primaries.

I have cut out lots of masks myself! The internet is a great resource for simple models and shapes (try: coloring+whatever). I cut them in bristol cardstock (very common school supply and dirt cheap! They don't last long, but they last long enough to use several times. The big advantage of making your own masks is that you can adjust the size to fit your project.

I do have some plastic masks which I bought, and I use them mainly for background, as a change from stamps.

Thanks for the heads up on the paper range. I have the stars and hot air balloon papers from Lime Twist, but hadn't seen the bingo numbers or that cool stripey paper, nor the kites.

Have fun getting your hands inky!!!

Here's a page I made tonight. The red motif in the background (right hand side) is sprayed with Glimmer mist using a shop-bought mask. I then flipped it over and used the 'negative' side for the little detail on the top left of the photo.

In this page the leafy fronds are a mask I made myself, and in this one the various blue and golden rectangles are primitive masks which I also made myself. It doesn't take much to get a great result.

Sorry I haven't posted in here for a while smile Christmas cards/crafts are well in hand. Mum also got herself a Hoagie Board, to help make impressive cards, which she is very pleased with.
My sister is celebrating her birthday next month, so here's a extra special card

Here is the major project that we did on my parchment course, the photo doesn't do it justice, it is quite nice really. It is in three layers if you count the gates as one layer. The peacock is irridescent.

Hard to say exactly, I started it Monday morning and had finished all but the assembling by afternoon Tuesday but I had worked until 11pm Monday evening. I did finish, or get that far, way before anyone else.

This is a card made using polychromos pencils.

WOW Ren, love that cardi! It looks quite a complicated pattern though!

Love your cupcakes, Jane, bet your niece did too!

And Sue, as usual, those cards are amazing! Such detailed work and great colouring!

Makes my two cards from last night look really simple:

The other one is here.

The only decoration is made with scrap tape, I love that masking tape stuff, and it comes in such a wide variety of patterns and colours, is ready to stick so no mess ... I'm pretty addicted these days.

And this card was from Tellywellies and his wife Lynda. Lynda is to blame for me spending a small fortune in the past six years!

I am showing this card, just one of the many Christmas cards that I have made so far this year, this one is to be sold by the Salvation Army to raise funds, as I used some dies sent to me by Copago for my birthday.

I used the second largest to cut the picture and the largest to cut some red to go behind it, then cut four smaller shapes to form a large diamond on which to stick the smaller image.
