I have heard that the man behind the breast implant controversy used industrial silicon instead of medical silicon. No one has mention the cost difference and how much this company saved by putting womens lives at risk.

Never even considered having one and never will. I was given what I have and if they sag, they sag LOL

This is why, prior to any invasive procedure, one should get a second opinion and check with the medical society and/or the internet for complaints against the person doing the procedure.

The vast majority of these horrible occurances take place because the patient wants a cheap price and not a quality procedure performed by a qualified professional.

Regretably in this case the doctors didn't realise they were getting an inferior product and many were implanted by the most reputable of surgeons and many of them to NHS patients as well as to paying patients. Around 40,000 British women had them so it isn't just shady doctors.

Locally we have just over twenty women with them, all implanted by a well respected plastic surgeon who is based in the UK but see patients from here, both here and in London. He has offered to remove them free of charge for these women but at the moment it isn't known who will pay the other costs other than his time.
