hermet also completed his/her game - a close miss. That makes it an even count on the normal game side, but to be fair, it should run until BxBarracuda, TAKROM and Midget40 have played their Hardcore round so that everyone still racing for 10th over there has the same count.

Edit: Midget40 has played and failed to pass TAKROM (adding in the mis-scored Brain Twist won't change that), same for Lottie1001. It's between TAKROM and BxBarracuda for that last Hardcore badge now.

Edit 2: BXBarracuda has also played and failed to pass TAKROM. That means if Terry is going to end it any time during the rest of this set, it's all decided - no partial set effects.

I'll bow out of this set so I know where I stand...well done to the new Immortals, and maybe I'll get that last 25% (I'm at 75.0% through div 9 - and a record for me anyway lol).

When doing the honors, please don't forget to link GC15's winner pages as well - they've never officially been put in the Hall of Fame.

And now I need to readjust my play style and rhythm - "Pace self to reliably get 13/15 within a reasonable time" is just not going to win me any triathlons smile

Did not win me a HC badge, either- I missed by about a dozen spots...

When are the badges given out? I haven't had mine yet and it says that they are given out immediately on completion...

Patience, Grasshopper, the badges will come immediately when Terry works his magic on the system - it's always like this in the GC. Waiting for the badge is probably the longest wait of all. smile

Well done to all the new Immortals and particularly to the new Hardcore champions, it's a long slog for everyone but it's worth it! grin

Well done to all the winners! One of our Bikers, Pixiecat, made it to HC Champ so I'm doubly pleased about that. Congratulations everybody!

I'm so glad it's over. That hanging over my head became a burden. I think next go round I'll just play the categories I struggle with. I got good with my strengths becuase I would play them all of the time in Global. Playing the categories I struggle with next time will make me stronger overall.

Congratulations everyone. I am delighted to have finally become a HC Champ after the 5th try but until the badge is on my page it will be hard to believe it! I now have withdrawal symptons!!

Good resolution - the GC is never decided in your strong games. It's the weak ones where you win or lose it.

Just to prove my brain is yet to recover from the recently concluded GC, I'm seriously considering Hard Core for the next one. My question is 'Do the playing rules for HC include the 'Impossible' category?

You can take 'Impossible' as an optional 6th topic in each set, but must score 10 or more in under 130 seconds to get any points from it.

Thanks for that quick response looney_tunes. Seems like that will provide many opportunities to get that elusive 'zero' mini-badge!

It's a philosophy I remember from Bob Knight. Work on your weaknesses until they become strengths.

Just an observation. I was very excited when GC finished and I was in the top 10 of the hardcore that hadn't got the badge. Nearly 48 hours later and there is still no sign of it on my wall. I have never had to wait this long for a badge - in the list of challenges it says it is awarded straight away - maybe that should be changed.
Terry wrote that the Immortal badges would be awarded tomorrow (I presume that includes the HC badge). Well my tomorrow is almost over!

These badges have a few very rare ingredients that are hard to come by and are created in an arduous alchemical process. You could probably have yours today, but then it would be poisonous to the touch, so you'll better wait until they are properly prepared smile

I'm stoked. It's certainly number 1 in my prized badges list :-)
And as a very old Aussie TV ad said "And now we can all get some sleep!"
Congratulations to all.

Congratulations to all Immortals and Hardcore recipients. I'm so thrilled to finally nab this badge. Like pixiecat, this is my fifth (or maybe sixth) attempt and it was a challenge to the very end. It is my most prized badge also!

I've been trying for Hardcore for ages, it seems. My hope is that I may get it next time, now that all the really good players have their HC badges. wink
