No change out front, spots #1 to #4 are unchanged for the 10th straight week.

Sypher is still leading, for the 14th straight week .. he now has two players just one point behind him. He's retained the lead despite wafer thin margins over 2nd place; they've fluctuated between 2½ pts and a mere ½ pt during those 14 weeks.

Three weeks ago the spread between the first four was 7½ pts. Last week it fell to a mere 2½ pts. It's now out slightly to 3 pts as paper_aero collected a wooden spoon and swapped places with BxBarracuda.

Last week Dizart replaced his wooden spoon from the previous week with a weekly win .. this week he's back to a spoon.

ren33 and PaulE are still looking for their first weekly win and szabs is still the only spoonless player .. szabs has the best countback differential of any player at +4 .. which means she doesn't need to go past Sypher. If she catches him she'll grab 1st place on a countback.

Sypher has been dethroned .. his run of 14 weeks at the top of the pile has ended. BxBarracuda has taken over front-running duties .. his lead is a wafer-thin ½ pt. No-one from 1st to 16th kept their spot from last week .. apart from ren33 and trev1.

Howie72 is this week's winner .. he climbs up to 4th spot, a new high for the season.

N-Bomb collects a wooden spoon .. he was last week's winner. The other wooden spoon goes to ozzz2002 .. that's #11 in his collection. No-one has a bigger collection of spoons.

Six weeks ago the spread between the first six was 10½ pts. Last week it fell to 7½ pts and this week it's fallen again, to 6 pts. The same 6 players have occupied the first 6 positions (tho' not the same spot) for those six weeks, and this week makes it seven. The three medallists should come from this group, as there's a huge 7 pt gap back to 7th place.

ren33 scores her first HoF for the year leaving PaulE as the lone ranger, without a HoF award (we've just finished week 32 of this year's comp). His last HoF award came in week 20 of last year's comp .. which means his streak now extends to 48 wks without a weekly HoF award!

N-Bomb and Sypher also scored was HoF award with their picks of 9/11 .. last week N-Bomb collected a wooden spoon, and the week before that was a weekly HoF! It was his 6th HoF for the season, more than anyone else.

Last week Howie72 won the HoF award. .. this week he collects the wooden spoon. Is this weekly swapping between N-Bomb and Howie72 an NZ thing, lol

Sypher jumps back into the lead just 1 wk after being dethroned .. and he's put 3½ pts between himself and BxBarracuda, which is the biggest lead he's had since way back in week 10. The gap back to 3rd is now out to 3 pts .. and the 4 players running 3rd to 6th are now separated by a mere 2½ pts.

Last week just two players from 1st to 15th kept their spot from the previous week .. this week it was just one. Between us we averaged 62.1% (about 6.95/11), which is the 3rd highest strike rate for any week in the FLC tipping comp since it started back in 2006!

szabs is still the only spoonless player .. at +4 szabs has the best countback differential of any player. Next best is N-Bomb at +3
(6-3) followed by Sypher also at +3 (but 4-1).

We have a full house this week .. a 19 of 19 roll-call.

Sypher makes it back-to-back weekly wins to once again extend his lead out front to a mouth watering 8 pts .. it's the biggest lead anyone has had all season, and there are "only" 13 rounds left to the finish post. Those back-to-back weeklies have now given him the best countback figures as well = catching him won't be enough, we have to get past him.

Howie72 was a weekly winner a fortnight ago, a wooden spooner last week, and is back as a weekly winner this week .. those two wins in three weeks have moved him up to 3rd spot, his highest position all season.

ozzz2002 is the other weekly winner with 7/11 .. three of those seven were solo picks!

KrivoyRog collects this week's wooden spoon with 1/11, the hard way .. he almost scored 0/11 as his correct pick was a solo pick! He joins ozzz2002 in the kitchen-decoration battle .. they have 11 spoons each.

LeoDaVinci is our weekly winner with 9/12. Between us we averaged 55.7% correct .. the 8th highest in the all-time FLC weekly averages. Three of the 10 best weekly averages have been scored this season!

Once again Sypher extends his lead out front. It was 8 points last week and now it's 9½ pts which is, once again, the biggest lead anyone has had all season. The five players behind him are separated by just 4½ pts .. unless someone else can finish the season with a furry over the next 12 weeks, silver and bronze will go to two of those five.

ozzz2002 collects this week's wooden spoon to make it 12 for the season .. he's now one ahead of KrivoyRog in the kitchen-decoration battle. No-one else is in double figures .. next best is way back on 6 spoons.

szabs is still the only spoonless player .. her streak now stands at 34 weeks (she did not play last year). PaulE is still looking for a weekly win. His last HoF award came in week 20 of last year's comp (=24 wks) .. his streak is now out to 58 weeks without a weekly win.

That's 34 down and 12 to go .. we're approaching the turn into the home straight!

Correction of error re solo picks:
these bonus picks are solo, or one of three

For weeks 1 to 7 this was done correctly, but from week 8 onwards it was done as one of two! Going back through the results for the 28 weeks from wk8 to wk35 there were 30 games which had three correct picks. These are listed below, together with an amended Standings for the just-completed Week 35. I found this error last night while watching Barcelona put seven in the back of the net and playing on a laptop .. one thousand and ninety apologies for these 90 omissions!

Sypher is a man on a mission .. 5 weeks ago his run at the top ended after 14 straight weeks. He regained the lead a week later and has extended it every week since then; he's now 12 pts in front of second place!

srini701 is this week's winner and, with that effort, he climbs up to 8th place .. equalling his previous high for the season .. ditto dg_dave. On the other hand, LeoDaVinci has fallen to 15th to set a new low for the season.

dg_dave collects another three bonus picks to make it 48 for the season and ozzz2002 collects one to make it 44 .. next best is BxBarracuda way back on 24 and George95 with 19 .. four of us are still in single digits!

szabs is spoonless again .. her streak now stands at 36 weeks.

After 60 attempts PaulE hits pay dirt .. he finally has a weekly win to bring his drought to an end! He flies up the table from 14th to 8th spot, some 10pts behind 2nd place .. back in wk 20 he was running 3rd last, 18 pts behind 2nd place.

We're now 9 weeks from the finish post and Sypher is still out there in front 12 pts ahead of 2nd place. As there are 12 picks each week, he can happily disconnect his computer from the wall plug .. he'll still be leader next week even if he scores zero.

Howie72 moves up into equal 2nd place .. his highest position all season. Back in Round 17 (that's 20 weeks ago!) he was 17 pts behind Sypher in 15th place, four spots off bottom.

szabs is spoonless again .. her streak now stands at 37 weeks. The next round is mid-week: FLC [ 38 ] Tue 20th March

Eight of the 12 games were picked for 4 or less players .. most of us were looking at a max correct of 4/12. Between us our strike rate was 26.3% or 3.1/12 which is almost, but not quite, our lowest ever weekly average (see Record Book at bottom of this post).

Three players are this week's top scorers with just 5/12 .. ozzz2002 and KrivoyRog did it the hard way .. three of their five were solo picks!

A fortnight ago ozzz2002 had a weekly win .. last week it was a wooden spoon .. this week it was another weekly win. Over the last 11 weeks he's had 3 weekly wins and collected 5 wooden spoons!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Ma and Pa Kettle are boiling a pot of tea for young Sypher .. he's on a world safari admiring nature's gifts both far and wide, and dropped in for a quick cuppa. Every week he logs in on his satellite phone and lodges his FLC picks. He's doing aok .. his lead out front is now a jaw-dropping 13 pts. With just 6 rounds left it'll take a miracle for him to lose the gold medal from here.

The other two medals will go to two of the four players running 2nd to 5th .. they're separated by 4 pts (same as last week).

At the rear of the field KrivoyRog scores a weekly win and swaps places with illiniman14, again.
