Congratulations to everyone who got a shiny new badge this time around. I played this time but am trying to convince myself not to play in the next GC as it's so time consuming. When it comes to the crunch, will I be able to resist? And if I do play, will I be able to stop being so competitive? Answers on a postcard, please.

I view it like golf - the competition is with yourself and the course (question sets) rather than anyone else. I'm still in the 'addicted' phase!

I play about every other to every third GC, as there are times I feel I don't have the time to put that much effort into it.

I will, however, play again, but it won't be GC17.

"Next global challenge starts early March."

How early?

It's usually announced about a week prior to the start date.

I think I am still recovering from HC. I hope the break is long and luxurious.

I'm siding with a longer-than-usual break this time since I've got a pretty crazy schedule this month and like to be able to make sure everything launches smoothly -- Mar 26 perhaps.

Definitely don't want to have it running for March 17th! And then the 18th to recover.

Plus, it's on a Saturday this year. Also, March Madness will be going on. It's going to be a wild ride.

Is this an appropriate place to ask why my profile shows that my highest level reached is Genius when I reached Immortal two or three GCs ago?

Why not - the answer is rather simple: The code that does this check is no longer working and the level hasn't been updated for several GCs. It's on the bugs list, but not at a really high priority.

Calpurnia, everyone who checks your profile will see you have indeed merited the status "Immortal".

Actually the reason I asked was that a couple of people suggested I go for Immortal, when they saw that I seemingly had only reached Genius. No matter, it's not a high priority.

It is the wonderful Shaun the Sheep. Have you seen the Wallace and Gromit movies?
