Lets spring in to March, or march into Spring if you like.
Thanks all for your lovely photos.

Spring has definitely sprung - at least for a day or two anyway.

The centre of the universe they call Henlys Corner in Golders Green, the confluence of three major roads and what was Henlys garage before it was demolished. They've just added a few turning filters but the traffic jams are no better.

Happened to spot this in Bangkok. Coconut shells filled with mud and tied to the tree. There were plants growing in the shells.

Looks like a fair bit of work to get out of that one Copago! Was there another 4WD to help?

Christiap, the flowers are beautiful. What are they?

ertrum, I take it that is our Lake Louise in Alberta? Yes, it is a lovely place. Were the golden poppies blooming along the banks of Lake Louise? There is a song about that, can't remember what is is though.

Unfortunately, no spring springing here yet!

Those are a lily tulip, and they are scented as well. On a warm day when they open right up like they are in the photo they throw scent all over the garden.

Happy Birthday to your Mum, Jane!

More flood pics - it ended up being about a foot higher than this.

It doesn't seem to be many years ago when you were so short of water that you lost a great deal of your stock.

Yeah. Floods and heavy rains that we've had now come with their own problems but I'd take them any day over a drought.

In the blue Canadian Rockies
Spring is silent through the trees
And the golden poppies are blooming
'Round the banks of Lake Louise

Now, oh, how my lonely heart is aching tonight
For that girl I left behind
And, oh, what I'd give if I
could be there tonight
With the sweetheart who's waitin' for me

Jill, the reports we are getting make it look terribly flooded in your area. Are you really OK?

Wow SpanishLiz, that looks sensational. Too late for an invitation? lol

Best of luck with all the flooding Jill. It's curtailed some of my fieldwork but that's a minor inconvenience compared with the hardships people in the flooded regions are facing.

We are okay, thanks smile We had near enough our annual rainfall in a week. Our average is 9.5 inches and we had 9.3 which is unheard of. We went through any records we have that go right back and the most we can find in a week is about 7 inches. There's lots of water around and the rain has stopped so the house isn't a worry anymore but the water did go through the shed and chook house which is nothing really, will just need a clean up when it goes back. We could see it coming so we put up anything in the shed that could be damaged and the chooks now have a new home.

Here's the shed on the left, chook house in the middle and our house is on the right behind that fence. The water is about a foot deep in the middle and about three inches went through the shed.
