A little gentle teasing between the two dominant football codes in Australia - although it's a bit more complicated than that. Soccer is number 2, pretty much everywhere, but #1 could be rugby league as shown in this photo (New South Wales & Queensland) or Aussie Rules Football which dominates in all other states.

It has at last got warm and I had to quickly get these indoors before they were finished in a day.

Mike, I'm afraid they wouldn't fit on this little suburban ground!

Today I helped to paint this fence at my sister & brother-in-law's. Then we sat outside to eat dinner. Remember, it is still winter (at least for a few hours) and this is Canada...

Of course, now I can see they are DVDs! I do see that lovely card there too. Framing it was a great idea.

I'd never found it before but there's a hill at the local park where you can see in all directions. It was a bit misty today but OK looking this way

This is what greeted me on my drive home tonight. Part of our road has disappeared with the fast snow melt. The right side of the road is mainly now sand with pavement chunks.
As soon as road restrictions are lifted I have been assured it will be fixed.

Liz I love that color for the fencing. Does the fence have a history? Did it get moved from somewhere else and who designed if it is original to the home. Its unique

My brother-in-law designed and built the fence where it stands. It is quite the prettiest one in the area (my opinion), and the squirrels love running along the top of it

Some of you know I'm a bit of an orchid "nut" (yeah okay, some of you just think I'm nutty lol) ANYHOO, I currently have 17 different ones in my house, in different windows, so they all bloom at various times of the year. This is one of my favourites, because the petals look like wet watercolour paper that someone has splattered with magenta paint...

Mike: Thanks! Yours are EXcellent! If that well-fed elk further up didn't have antlers, I'd swear it was pregnant lol. Very difficult to get a good shot of a bird having a bath. 99% of my attempts are so blurred they look like modern art.

SpanishLiz: Last week I could have imagined sitting out in the yard as you did during the early afternoon, but as of yesterday, winter returned here. I took this photo around 5 p.m. We're hardly "snowed under", but keep in mind that there was absolutely NO snow on the ground at noon ...


(meanwhile it was +27C in "Winterpeg" - of all places!)

This is my world, Golders Green Road including red bus. I've been coming here all my life and never lived more than a few miles away. It was also the only area I could ever go to where I was likely to see anyone I knew wherever they lived, as it's somewhere people are drawn to from all directions somehow.

This is Northumberland Street Newcastle upon Tyne as seen from outside Haymarket Metro Station. This was once the A1 road from London to Edinburgh. That road now bypasses the city and the street has been pedestrianised

It's garden time again in Hampstead Garden Suburb, this is my 6th year now and many are different each time I go.

Thanks Jakeroo. It's the annual cherry blossom season there as well, I used to fill my school cap with it on the way home from primary school and put it in vases.

Thanks Jakeroo, nice idea but there are several sites already do this run by professional photographers so I will leave it to them.
Its tulip time these have been raised in the local council nursery and are planted out in the Spring

My mango tree looks very promising. We had over 100 last year.
