I've been reading up on the meaning of my Global Challenge rating.
I have read the info on the following page:

I understand the following:
-All players begin with a rating of 1500.
-1500 represents "average".
-The majority of players should be rated in the 1200-1800 range.
-It is important to note that progression through the divisions is not based on your Global Rating.

My questions are:
1.Does my Global Challenge rating refer to ALL my Global activity in the past or just to my progress in the current Global Challenge?

2.What do the numbers in parentheses indicate next to the names in the lists on the page linked above?

1. The rating pertains to the current Global Challenge.

2. The number next to your name reflects the division you are in.

1. Just to your progress in the current global challenge, because at the start of every GC your rating resets to 1500.

2. The numbers indicate the division of the player. For instance

#1 -- 1800 -- Terry (10)

would mean that Terry, in division 10, has a rating of 1800 which puts him in position #1.



BTW, the ratings aren't exactly much to base anything on near the start of the GC. Many players have 1 high score which puts them near the top. It balances out later.
