Have not looked at it yet. Generally, the best ciphers are the least complicated.

First, cipher is the term you are looking for. Ciphers can be solved through a system, codes can mean anything. Subtle difference. :P

I recognised the cipher in the first half (although I'm sure I would have found it through researching). It didn't exactly give me the next cipher, but I have worked out the next cipher, through the use of Wikipedia.

If I were you I'd just research famous ciphers in general, and the best link I can give you is below (although I'm sure you've used it before).

I didn't recognize the cipher in the first half, but found it easily by Googling a description of it if you will. You just have to have a look around on the net. I know one of the ciphers from part 2 just by reading online about ciphers in general, but have yet to crack the rest.

I solved the first half with just pen and paper, no research needed.

The second half though- I've read about every cipher I can find and have tried a combination of things, but just caan't get anywhere. This is truly evil.

Mind you- IF I ever get this thing figured out, I'll be looking around for the next one. A bit like the treasure really. Once the excitement of winning it wears off, you feel lost.

I figured out the first part rather quickly, and I THINK I know what the clue hints at for the second part... just can't get it to work correctly.

I'll go with World Monthly, Pot of Gold Monthly, Daily Monthly, and something for FMI, (perhaps making it a team game or having a cumulative badge) please.

I'd like to see some more that involve locating and playing quizzes, such as tracing in the footsteps of the Amazing Trivia Race, and maybe a Lizards badge to go with the Cats mini and Dogs full badges.

I'd also be happy to see a monthly badge for Daily, World, and Pot of Gold. Otherwise, I'm happy with anything. laugh

There need to be more mini-challenges for the Level 150 Challenge Mastery challenge!

I'd like to see:

- A badgelet for submitting a word via word wizard that you've won the Crystal Ball with.
- A badgelet for having every possible game checked off at a particular time. (maybe not include the Gold Member games).
- A badge for finishing all the scavenger hunts.
- A badge or badgelet that somehow encourages people to play and rate the New Questions Game.

I'd also like to see the number of challenges updated from 198 to the correct number on the main screen, and a way to see how many knockout wins you have.

I was thinking the same thing tonight...how about a badge for cumulative points, perhaps say, oh, if someone (maybe even me shocked ) has reached 203940 points for instance. That would be all right. smilee

I forgot, I'd also like to see a badge that rewards multiple wins in the Champion Division of the Expert Game. Say, 20-50 wins, against at least 15 opponents. It really doesn't feel like winning the Expert Game is very meaningful unless it's against the very best.

Here's a compiled list of things I would feel to be beneficial - some from members, some from my own trips down the challenges list, in random order:

Crosswords could direly use a new top level award - 250 or even 500 hard mode crosswords solved. At only two badges of medium difficulty, this is an underappreciated section.

The ever popular 24 hours series could do with two or even three additional entries. I suggest Sci/Tech for the first, Entertainment or TV for the second and if we want a third, Literature.

The Cumulative Fantasy KO badge at 2,500 points - it's one that was promised from the beginning of the game.

How about 20 (twenty!) new minis that will keep our members occupied for a long time? To be added to the Prismatic Staircase, each of them rewarded for authoring 5 quizzes in a particular category (if you want to be truly evil, you can add that one of them must have Sunnies...). These would majorly benefit the site as they would be a big bad driving force for those 150+ types (who need them for the Mastery) to convert their play experience into more quizzes.

Monthlies for Daily and World Game. Pot of Gold already has the weekly and thus doesn't need a monthly, but the other two do. Just make sure they're based on actual score, not percentiles - otherwise Daily's divisions would make this one impossible for those already thrown into Champ.

Obtaining an Expert Champion rating of 1650+ (at any time, not necessarily year end). Better than just champ victories as it's a more skillful style of play.

Trending! award for playing 250 quizzes within 24 hours of release.

Some cumulative New Questions Game award - I'd still stick with a number (100?) of days with a 400 or 500 score. Just high enough a barrier to be an incentive for really trying, but none that would encourage googling.

An entry level authoring full badge (currently our lowest available is 5 categories) for authoring a single qualifying quiz in any one of our ten less populated categories.

Just for the speed demons: A 990 badgelet for achieving said score in any of the Mixed quizzes.

Another one for the speed freaks - Quick Quiz Frenzy: Bank 75 correct answers for quick questions within 10 minutes of playing your first question regardless of how many you get wrong. (If we want to make this slightly less evil, use 15 minutes - my own best is around 9:15, so 10 is nasty).

Also, for the same game, a 5000 Quick Questions cumulative award.

One for the level 125 or 150 extras as it will take quite a while to obtain: Teamplay Legend / Master (depending on level) - accumulate a total of one million "top 200" points for your team over all the games that offer them.

Several more Scavenger Hunts, especially at levels of Emerald and upwards.

A badgelet for heading a team quiz

Hero of Heroes: Make it onto your team's hero roster in 100 different categories.

Should be enough for a week or two of coding smile

How about a version of the GC 'Zero' Impossible badge and keep it a badgelet (because it's just a GM available item) for getting blanked in the KO Fantasy? Use a blank token indicator, no graphic/no image just a blank token. The pointer roll-over could explain what its for.

Couple of extra point precisions.

Odd get a score 13579 and Even 2468

Think there was a higher Iron Brain badge talked about at one point.

I love the triathlon. And I really love FMI.
How about having a pentathlon by adding FMI and Obscure to the existing three?

I support Wesley's idea for the people authoring at least five quizzes in a particular category.

Wes --

Not sure why a 1650 Expert Rating is better than many multiple wins in the Champion division. Right now, a 1650 can be compiled by only playing in the hours where you are a super-expert in the category, not just an "expert". You may not beat guys like bigdog but you'll beat enough "experts" on a regular basis to inflate your rating. The badge should award expertise in a variety of topics, not just one or two.

I mostly proposed the rating-based approach because it's different than "collect a large number of wins" and a different skill set than the one we are already checking with the "Jack of" badges. The people who win the 20 Champs badge would just be the same as those who already got the Jack of Many Trades early when there was no Champs division. Playing for a rating (possibly with some additional requirements to ensure you don't always cherry-pick your categories, say, by needing to have the 1650 with at least 100 games played) is a different thing - it means you are above average in many fields.

I would like to see some more scavenger hunts and endurance games for us non speed freaks.

Not just mini ones either but ones that will take ages to finish that you have to work towared not just sit and play and get it within a day or two.

I would still like to see a badge for people who play every single set of the GC for the entire game. I know people have said it's too hard but thats the point and its more attainable for most people than winning Immortal or HC and its doable for anyone that chooses to put the effort in.

I'd also like to see some of our badges we have now have another goal to strive for once we reach the highest : another quiz authoring badge above 100 quizzes - maybe 200? and another knockout level? Maybe something else to do with brains as they count for nothing after a while.

Interesting idea about GC, it sounds good.

If we do have a badge for authoring over 100 quizzes, I'd go for something a lot larger, almost like a mega badge - 500 maybe.

Knockout... maybe a badge for 5/10 wins or something. I think 200 KO points is enough.

Brains, again, possibly a mega badge - 15,000?

Yep, this is needed. How's 3000 points sound?

And what do we want to call this one?

Knockout....
