Once again, Sypher has extended his lead out front. It's now out to 13½ pts. BxBarracuda retains 2nd place .. and the next 13½ pts covers 11 player (more than half the field).

dg_dave collects another two bonus picks to make it 53 for the season ... ozzz2002 is next with 49 of them. These two players are streets ahead of BxBarracuda and KrivoyRog, who are next best with 26 apiece. Three of us are still in single figures!

We had a 100% roll-call this week with 19 of 19 lodging picks. LeoDaVinci scored his 8th weekly win for the season (next best is N-Bomb with seven).

ozzz2002 (now 15) and KrivoyRog (now 14) added another wooden spoon each to their collection .. they're streets in front of srini701, who has 8 spoons.

szabs is spoonless again .. her streak now stands at 42 weeks.

Sypher has extended his lead out front, again. It's now out to 14 pts. BxBarracuda retains 2nd place .. and the next 14 pts once again cover 11 players.

dg_dave collects yet another bonus pick to make it 54 for the season ... ozzz2002 is next with 49 of them. These two players are streets ahead of BxBarracuda, who has 27. Three of us are still in single figures.

BxBarracuda is this week's winner with a stupendous 9/12. He did it the hard way .. 4 of those 9 were solo picks! He picked up another bonus for scoring 8+/12 and becomes the 2nd player to pick up 5 bonuses in one round .. dg_dave was the first, earlier in the season.

There were 16 bonuses this week, the 2nd highest ever .. we're now down to two players who are still in single digits.

With that effort, BxBarracuda almost halves the deficit behind Sypher from 14 pts to 8 pts. As the gap back to 3rd place is another 8 pts, it's become a two-horse race for gold medal. Behind the two leaders 3rd to 7th are separated by 7 pts; the bronze medallist should be one of these 5 players.

ozzz2002 adds another wooden spoon to his collection .. that's the 5th one over the last 11 weeks. He's also scored 3 weekly wins over those 11 weeks.

Three more rounds and this marathon is over .. the last two Saturdays in April, plus mid-week : FLC [ 44 ] Tue 17th April.

We're all done, the marathon is over. BxBarracuda was unable to catch Sypher, who won gold by a comfortable 7½ pts (it was 14 points some four weeks ago) .. trev1 picks up bronze, his first-ever medal in any FT tipping comp!

The last week of the season saw 5 players score a weekly win and KrivoyRog collect his 15th wooden spoon for the season. He fell two short of the 17 spoons collected by ozzz2002 .. these two players were the only ones who were in double digits! For LeoDaVinci it was his 9th weekly win, and for N-Bomb it was his 8th. These two players have the honour of finshing one-two in weekly wins.

What would've happened if srini701 and/or Howei72 were able to emulate their 2nd half performance in the first half of the season! Ditto szabs and paper-aero, but the 1st into 2nd (see table at right).

ozzz2002 scored yet another bonus pick to make it 54 for the season, but he fell four short of the 58 collected by dg_dave! Two players did not make it into double figures .. they finished with just 9 bonus picks for the season.

This year's comp was the 6th edition of the FLC tipping comp and, after 5 different winners, Sypher becomes the first player to win this comp twice (he won the 3rd comp back in 2008-09).

Congratulations to the three medallists, and commiserations to the rest of us; there's always next year. We start another 46 laps in early August.
