Maybe if we complete every single quiz race (as listed in the credits at the end) we can get the other one? I just look at that poor little fish just sitting there in the challenges list and think how much better he'd feel sitting next to the nice green frog on my profile page Me? A badge tart? No!

This seems to put everyone into two camps. Can I see a Frog versus Fish knockout special? (At Christmas perhaps) This idea has potential. Or maybe a mini-quiz writing badgelet on the one we don't have to get it... Quizzes about fish or quizzes about frogs...

I would think that badgelet would be very hard to award, besides there is not enough detail: have the word "frog" or "fish" in the title? What happens if you have both words in the title, or already have the badgelet you are writing the quiz for? Does it have to be under a "fish" or "frog" category, or are you banned from writing the quiz in animals altogether? Can you earn fish/frog from quiz writing without playing the Great Quiz Race? If so, would non-Gold members be able to earn it or would the gold member restriction on the badgelet (and maybe even the Great Quiz Race) be removed altogether. It was a good idea, but I don't think it would work.

It sounds kind of crazy, but I think I like it. How about Frog winners vs. Fish winners? You could make it like an All Star Game! Dave, on the Frog Team...

Although, currently, it would be 180 Frogs against 57 fish. Not too fair. :P

Fish and Frog are the same badgelet, just the front and back of it. You get them for doing exactly the same thing. It's like a coin that some have pasted on their profiles with heads showing and others have it with tails. Don't believe me? Take a look at http://www.krath.org/proof.png - an exclusive look at my profile, from behind the scenes and see how the badge is mounted! Is that the rotating door everyone is talking about? I haven't got my fish or frog yet, I was stuck in NQ for a week, now am languishing in PoG. The questions seem so much harder than they normally do, it must be the weight of impending failure that makes them seem that way.

It was a good idea, but I don't think it would work. Have you participated in any of the Commissions on the Author's Lounge Board? I'm sure Kyle could come up with a Commission that would help those who want to earn whichever badgelet has eluded them, which in turn could turn into a Challenge list of quizzes similar to the Lizards one. If you haven't checked out the Commissions, I suggest you do, a treasure trove of quizzes written to fulfill convoluted tasks that come out better than the author could have imagined because of the spark of insane genius was provided as inspiration.

Sorry guys-- not even I can get my hands on a fish. He had a 'do not resuscitate' order.

But it's flawed. I arrived at the Pot of Gold task yesterday. Played the Sciences, and didn't score high enough. So I just checked and saw this. Requirement: score -776300 points in the described game. Your required score has been lowered due to your time here. That's hard to get.

Many thanks for reducing required scores for us weary travellers Terry.
I was stuck at the New Question wall for 17 days, falling short of the 600 mark by about 10 points on two occasions.
Onwards to the next obstacle ....

I wouldn't say that, Terry, I'd never use that many exclamation marks. I'm glad you've changed the requirements, in a game like this it makes sense to give people the chance to go on trying for a higher score than they'd normally get whilst acknowledging that not everyone can be good at everything all of the time.

This "game" is quite arduous on many levels. But who said life had to be "easy"? I'm just glad it's a full badge and I'm also glad that Terry lowered the requirements for the first one (can't remember what that was now, but it was very nice of him).
POG was kinda tough, but I managed it when it got to a day I normally do sort of "okay" on. I think it's great about the "incremental" thang. I don't think it's unfair to the people who were able to move on from their first attempt at all. I don't see the point in "punishing" folks longer than they can put up with LOL.
I (could have) had a certain small advantage in that I participated in the quiz writing thing itself (although I was kicking myself for not having played more of the quizzes during the game itself LOL - nobody to blame but myself).
And sure people might complain here and there that it's too hard, or too long, but it's ohhhhhhhhh so satisfying when you finish. Thanks to everybody involved!!!

I don't seem to be able to just take a portion of the message and make it quote like the rest of you do - remember, I'm no techno-wiz To quote someone, don't just write a new post - click on the little box under their entry that says quote. You can then remove the bits you don't want to use - just be careful to leave the beginning and ending of the quote instructions, which are in square brackets, in place. If you mess with them, you get a mess instead of a nice quote.
