Venus is going to be going across the sun on Wednesday and won't be happening again for more than 100 years.
For my area a sunny day is forcast .. finger's crossed!

it was quite a coincidence for us as my son's been learning about Captain Cook this term and about how he was on his way back from viewing the transit in Tahiti when he discovered the east coast of Australia.

Apparently Venus will be crossing the sun at sunrise on Wednesday here - but I don't somehow think we'll be seeing much of the sun this week at all!

From the forecast we will definitely miss out on that tomorrow.

It's bright and sunny here today. We're holding welding glass lenses in front of binoculars and watching it that way.

Okay, so it's not the most exciting thing to watch - we could even put it in the category of watching paint dry - but it's cool at the same time. Certainly shows just how big the sun is when a whole planet is a tiny dot in front of it.

Wish I would have read this earlier. The sun just went down! But I did go to CNN and see a picture.
