Picked a whole bowlful that size that day Jakeroo, and am currently picking about 20 a day as they are ripening. Best strawberry crop we've had for some years - the rain has been good for something!

My strawberries are just coming into fruition, but we've had enough for several desserts so far. I should probably freeze them instead as it will be awhile til the rhubarb is ready (for pies). Anyway, that's a very colourful collection for sale there, Christina : )

It originates from the narrow boats that used to carry goods up and down the canals. The stuff in the photo is all modern, but any old original canal ware or barge ware is very collectible now.

No, it's at RAF Hendon in London. Duxford is on my list of places to visit. The Imperial War museum will be next, I'm heading there this coming Tuesday.

You are most kind Mike. A look of "disdain" is not unusual for cats of any size lol

Thanks Ren and Christina!

For those interested in "strategies" for taking zoo pics ... here's the link to the original picture (which had cage bars in the way). There were actually two cats in their shelter (out of the sun), but I couldn't make a final photo of both because of the chain link fence.

http://i658.photobucket.com/albums/uu309/Jakeroo510/P1010028.jpg

Hints? Use your zoom if you have one, focus on the animal's eyes. The bars will then be out of focus and can be cropped out afterwards. If you have your camera set on "multi pixels" before you take the picture, you will still end up with a fairly detailed/sharp photo once cropped and resized to fit the format here. I absolutely never "mess" with contrast, brightness, hue saturation or anything else that I don't think is "fair" (unless you actually used a specific lens to get that particular effect) - just cropping. In this case, the animal was "outdoors", so an added "plus" is that I didn't have to deal with the extra dilemma of glass/plexiglas.

If you don't care about any of the above, well I'm just happy if you enjoyed the cat's smirk : )))))))))))
